(E)-3-(Anthracen-9-yl)-1-(furan-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one.

ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title heteroaryl chalcone derivative, C(21)H(14)O(2), the almost planar prop-2-en-1-one unit [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0087 (1) Å] forms dihedral angles of 5.81 (7) and 49.85 (6)°, respectively, with the furan ring and anthracene ring system. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π⋯π inter-actions involving the furan rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7205 (6) Å].
