ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(5)NO(5))(H(2)O)(5)]·H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is coordinated by one O atom from the 2-(5-carboxyl-ato-2-oxidopyridinium-1-yl)acetate ligand and by five water mol-ecules, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules form O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional framework.
