ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)OH)(H(2)O)]ClO(4)·0.5H(2)O, contains two complex cations and two perchlorate anions, one of which is disordered over two positions in a 0.767 (8):0.233 (8) ratio. The Mn(III) atoms are in distorted octa-hedral environments. In addition to the equatorial tetra-dentate salicylaldimine ligand, each Mn is axially coordinated by both a methanol and a water mol-ecule. The complex is a dimer held together by multiple strong and weak hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the coordinated water mol-ecule on one monomer with all the phenolic and meth-oxy O atoms on the other monomer.
