ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(16)H(12)O(2), was synthesized from naphthalene-2,7-diol and prop-2-ynyl 4-methyl-benzene-sulfonate in the presence of sodium hydride. The crystal packing exhibits inter-molecular non-classical C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions.
