ABSTRACT: The chromium(III) atom in the title salt, [Cr(H(2)O)(6)](C(8)H(2)NO(6))·2H(2)O, has an octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, the cation, anion and uncoordinated water mol-ecules, both of which are disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio, are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Tb(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(H(2)O)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), contains one Tb(III) ion, one pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxyl-ate (ptc) anion, three aqua ligands and one lattice water mol-ecule. The Tb(III) ion is nine coordinated by one N and five O atoms from three ptc ligands and by three O atoms from the three aqua ligands in a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The ptc ligands bridge the Tb(III) ions into a two-dimensional polymeric framework parallel to (100). An extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network consolidates the crystal packing.

Project description:During the crystallization of the title compound, 4C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(12)N(2) (+)·2C(9)H(3)O(6) (3-)·2H(2)O, the acidic protons were transferred to the imidazole and piperazine N atoms, forming the final 4:1:2:2 hydrated mixed salt. The mean planes of the three carboxyl-ate groups in the anion are twisted with respect to the the central benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 13.5 (1), 14.5 (1) and 16.9 (1)°. In the crystal, the component ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by a combination of inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by π-π stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.393 (2) Å and weak C=O⋯π inter-actions [O-centroid = 3.363 (2) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, [Pb(2)(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(OH)](n), contains two crystallographically independent Pb(II) ions, one pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxyl-ate (ptc) trianion and one hydroxide anion. One of the Pb(II) atoms is coordinated by one pyridine N and four carboxyl-ate O atoms from the ptc trianion and a hydroxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Pb(II) atom is five-coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and two hydroxide O atoms in a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. Four neighbouring Pb(II) atoms are bridged through two μ(3)-hydroxide ligands, forming the centrosymmetric Pb(4)(OH)(2) core. The three-dimensional structure is further achieved through bridging carboxyl-ate groups. There are also O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the hydroxide ligand and the carboxyl-ate group.

Project description:In the title salt, (C(10)H(9)N(2))(2)[Fe(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(C(8)H(3)NO(6))]·3H(2)O, the Fe(III) atom is O,N,O'-chelated by dianionic and trianionic ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The cations and ferrate anions are linked into a layered structure; the layers are connected through the uncoordinated water mol-ecules into a hydrogen-bonded three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. One of the uncoordinated water molecules is disordered around an inversion centre and was refined with half-occupancy for each position.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(H(2)O)(2)](n), each pyridine-2,4,6-tricarboxyl-ate (tpc) ligand bridges two Mn(II) ions with the formation of polymeric chains located on a twofold rotation axis. Each Mn(II) ion is coordinated by two O and one N atoms from one tpc ligand, two O atoms from another ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. The Mn-N [2.243 (2) Å] and Mn-O [2.206 (2)-2.3123 (16) Å] bond lengths are normal. The coordinated water mol-ecules link neighbouring polymeric chains via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional framework parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(H(2)O)(6)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·2H(2)O, the manganese cation, on an inversion centre, is coordinated by six water mol-ecules, but the picrate anion has no coordinative inter-action with the manganese cation. The anions in the stack are linked via short inter-molecular O⋯C (3.013 and 2.973 Å) and C⋯C (3.089 and 3.065 Å) contacts and hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The reaction of propane-1,2-diamine (pn) and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (pydcH(2)) in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution resulted in the formation of the title compound, C(3)H(12)N(2) (2+)·2C(7)H(4)NO(4)·2H(2)O or (pnH(2))(pydcH)(2)·2H(2)O. The structure contains two monoanionic deprotonated forms of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid molecules (pydcH)(-), a diprotonated propane-1,2-diamine (pnH(2))(2+), and two water mol-ecules. A significant π-π stacking inter-action is observed between the pyridyl rings of the (pydcH)(-) fragments, with a face-to-face distance of 3.6194 (9) Å. In the crystal structure, a wide range of non-covalent inter-actions consisting of ion pairing, hydrogen bonding [of the types of O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O, N-H⋯N and C-H⋯O, with D⋯A distances in the range 2.454 (2)-3.222 (2)Å] and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6194 (9) Å] connect the components into a supra-molecular structure.
