ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(16)H(9)F(4)N(3)O(2), the dihedral angle between the aromatic ring systems is 4.10 (14)° and a bifurcated intra-molecular N-H⋯(O,F) hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring for the O-atom acceptor and an S(5) ring for the F-atom acceptor. A short C-H⋯O conact also occurs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

The thio-phene and tetra-fluorinated benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 77.38 (4)°. The crystal structure exhibits C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, resulting in supra-molecular chains along the c-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, C20H16F4N2S2, is a flexible bis-thio-phene-type Schiff base ligand with a perfluorinated backbone. The terminal thio-phene rings are almost normal to one another with a dihedral angle of 83.8 (2)°, and they are tilted to the central tetra-fluorinated benzene ring with dihedral angles of 61.2 (2) and 77.7 (1)°. In the crystal, there are π-π inter-actions involving the benzene ring and the thiophene ring of a symmetry-related molecule with a centroid-centroid separation of 3.699 (3) Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C6HF4O)(C48H36N4O4)]·C6H12, represents a five-coordinate iron(III) porphyrin complex in a square-pyramidal geometry with a tetra-fluoro-phenolate anion as the axial ligand. The Fe(III) atom is displaced by 0.364 (2) Å from the 24-atom mean plane of the porphyrinate ring towards the tetra-fluoro phenolate anion. The average Fe-N distance is 2.053 (2) Å and the Fe-O distance is 1.883 (2) Å. A porphyrin aryl H atom points in the general direction of the phenoxide ring. The mean plane separation between the 24-atom porphyrin planes of two adjacent porphyrin rings is ∼3.7 Å, and the lateral shift is ∼3.5 Å resu, ting in an Fe⋯Fe separation of 5.6167 (14) Å.

Sterically favoured non-H-atom C⋯O inter-molecular contacts are observed in the structure, within a 3.00 Å range. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds and an inter-molecular π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid separation of 3.783 (1) Å]. Alternating C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-molecular inter-actions generate chains running along the a axis, while a centrosymmetric R(2) (2)(16) ring involving C-H⋯O inter-actions is formed centred at (1/2, 1/2, 0).
