Poly[(μ(3)-4-carb-oxy-pyridine-3-carboxyl-ato-κN:O:O)(triphenyl-phosphine-κP)silver(I)].

ABSTRACT: In the title 1:1 silver(I) 4-carb-oxy-pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate adduct with triphenyl-phosphine, [Ag(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(C(18)H(15)P)](n), the carboxyl-ate anion bridges the phosphine-coordinated Ag atoms through its N and O atoms, generating a coordination polymer forming layers in the bc plane. The Ag atom exists in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The H atom of the carboxyl-ate is midway between two O atoms of the two carboxyl groups, thus forming a strong intra-molecular hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Cu(I) ion is coordinated by the N atom from a 5-carb-oxy-pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate anion, two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands and one water mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-bipy ligands bridge the Cu(I) ions into polymeric chains propagating in [201]. The latticeand the coordinating water mol-ecules as well as the carboxy OH function are involved in the formation of inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which consolidate the crystal packing.

In the crystal, extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions result in a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]BF(4), crystallizes as discrete [(PPh(3))(2)(py)(2)Cu](+) cations and [BF(4)](-) anions and is isostructural with the analogous perchlorate salt. The anion is located in close proximity to the pyridine ligands with weak C-H⋯F inter-actions apparent. The P(2)CuN(2) coordination geometry is pseudo-tetra-hedral, with P-Cu-P and N-Cu-N angles of 116.02 (6) and 101.5 (2)°, respectively.

Project description:In the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [In(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, which contains both pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate and 3-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands, the In(III) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. One pyridine ligand is N,O-chelated while the other is N,O-chelated and at the same time bridging to the other via the second carboxyl group. In the crystal, an extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding network, involving the coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules and the carboxyl groups of the ligands, together with C-H⋯O and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.793 (1) Å], leads to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(2)]·2C(2)H(6)OS, the Cu(II) atom is situated on an inversion centre and is N,O-chelated by two monoanionic 4-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry. The dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules and Cu(II) complex mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. In addition, C-H⋯O contacts and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.590 (1) Å] occur.

Project description:The title one-dimensional coordination polymer, [Zn(C9H4O6)(C5H5N)2] n or [Zn(HBTC)(py)2] n , (I), where BTC is benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate and py is pyridine, is a solvent-free polymorph of [Zn(HBTC)(py)2]·2C2H5OH [Yaghi et al. (1997 ▶). Chem. Mater. 9, 1074-1076]. Differences in the spatial arrangements and supra-molecular packing of the [Zn(HBTC)(py)2] n chains in the two structures are described. The chain in (I) extends parallel to [100] and is severely puckered, with a Zn⋯Zn distance of 8.3599 (3) Å and a Zn⋯Zn⋯Zn angle of 107.516 (3)°, as a result of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of the types O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O. There is no evidence for π-π inter-actions in (I). The differences between the solvent-free and solvent-containing structures can be accounted for by the absence of the ethanol solvent mol-ecule and the use of the converging pair of O atoms in the bis-monodentate bridging HBTC(2-) ligand in (I).

Project description:In the title compound, [Pd(C(5)H(4)NS)(C(18)H(14)PS)(C(18)H(15)P)], the Pd(II) atom has a slightly distorted square-planar environment. Two coordination sites are occupied by a P,S-chelating 2-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)benzene-thiol-ate ligand and the other two by a P atom from a triphenyl-phosphine ligand and an S atom from a pyridine-2-thiol-ate ligand, exhibiting a trans arrangement of the two P-donor atoms. In the crystal structure, weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H⋯π and π-π inter-actions are observed. The pyridyl ring is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules with similar configurations in the title complex, [Mo(C(3)H(6)NS)(C(5)H(4)NS)(C(18)H(15)P)(CO)(2)]. The geometry around the metal atom is that of a capped octa-hedron. The thio-cabamoyl and pyridine-2-thiol-ate ligands coordinate to the molybdenum metal center through the C and S atoms, and N and S atoms, respectively. NMR, IR and MS analyses are in agreement with the structure of the title compound.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Li(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(5)O(2))], is composed of centrosymmetric monomers in which an Li(I) ion is chelated by two N,O-bonding groups donated by two ligands. The Li(I) ion and both ligand mol-ecules are coplanar [r.m.s. deviation 0.0047 (2) Å] and water O atoms are in the axial positions. The second carboxyl group of each ligand remains protonated. An additional H atom, located between adjacent coordinated water mol-ecules and observed on Fourier maps, maintains the charge balance within the monomers and bridges them by short symmetric hydrogen bonds of 2.518 (3) Å to form catenated ribbons. The monomers also inter-act via hydrogen bonds in which water and carboxyl O atoms act as donors.
