μ-Oxido-bis-({2,2'-[o-phenylenebis(nitrilo-methylidyne)]diphenolato}iron(III)) methanol monosolvate dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Fe(2)(C(20)H(14)N(2)O(2))(2)O]·CH(4)O·2H(2)O, is composed of μ-oxido-bridged ferric 2,2'-[o-phenylene-bis(nitrilo-methylidyne)]diphenolate (salphen) dimers, one methanol mol-ecule and two H(2)O mol-ecules. Each iron(III) ion, surrounded by two coordinating N and O atoms from the salphen ligand and one bridging O atom, shows a five-coordinate square-pyramidal geometry. One of the two solvent water mol-ecules is disordered over three positions with occupancies of 0.44 (1), 0.37 (1) and 0.19 (1).

Project description:In the title heterodinuclear salen-type complex, [CuDy(C(19)H(20)N(2)O(4))(NO(3))(3)]·CH(3)OH, the copper(II) ion is tetra-coordinated by two imino N atoms [Cu-N = 1.961 (4) and 1.968 (4) Å] and two phenolate O atoms [Cu-O = 1.931 (3) and 1.938 (3) Å] in a planar geometry. The ten-coordin-ate Dy(III) ion is ligated by six O atoms of three nitrate groups and four O atoms from the ligand [Dy-O = 2.368 (3)-2.601 (3) Å]. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules and solvent mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title Mn(III) compound, {[Mn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)COO)]·CH(3)OH}(n), was synthesized by a reaction between mangan-ese(II) acetate and ethyl-enebis(4-meth-oxy-salicylaldimine). The structure is made up of bis-(4-meth-oxy-salicyldene)ethyl-enediaminatomanganese(III) units bridged by acetate groups, with Mn-N = 1.9786 (9), Mn-O = 1.8784 (10) and Mn-O(acetate) = 2.056 (9) and 2.2571 (9) Å, forming a one dimensional polymer (-Mn-acetate-Mn-acetate-) along [100]. The Mn(III) atom is in a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral environment with cis angles ranging from 81.87 (4) to 96.53 (4)° and trans angles ranging from 166.11 (3) to 173.93 (3)°. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to the phenolate O atom. In addition to this classical hydrogen bond, there are weak C-H⋯O inter-actions. The structure was determined from a crystal twinned by pseudo-merohedry.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [CdNi(2)(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(2))(2)(HCOO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, The Ni(II) cation is chelated by a 2,2'-[propane-1,3-diylbis(nitrilo-methanylyl-idene)]diphen-olate (salpn) anion, and further coordinated by a formate anion and a water mol-ecule in a distorted NiN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry. The Cd(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by four deprotonated hy-droxy groups from two salpn anions and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from formate anions in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Both formate and salpn anions bridge the Cd and Ni cations, forming a trinuclear complex. Within the salpn anion, the benzene rings are twisted to each other at a dihedral angle of 61.46 (18)°. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The lattice water mol-ecule is disorder over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.75:0.25.

The complex mol-ecules are stacked parallel to [100], forming channels in which the solvent chloro-form mol-ecules are located. C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the complex mol-ecules and the solvent mol-ecules consolidate the crystal packing.
