Tris(ethane-1,2-diamine-κN,N')cobalt(III) carbonate iodide tetra-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](CO(3))I·4H(2)O, crystallizes with a [Co(en)(3)](3+) cation (en is ethane-1,2-diamine), CO(3) (2-) and I(-) anions and four water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In the cation, the three rings formed by the ethyl-enediamine units and the Co(III) metal ion are in slightly distorted twist conformations. Numerous O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O, N-H⋯I and O-H⋯I inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the cation and two anions in concert with the four water mol-ecules dominate the crystal packing and create a supra-molecular infinite three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

The Mo(IV) atom is coordinated by eight cyanide ligands, one of which forms a bridge to a Co(II) atom that is itself coordinated by two bidentate ethane-1,2-diamine (en) ligands and one water mol-ecule. Another Co(II) complex, coordinated to three bidentate en ligands, acts as the counter-ion. The crystal structure contains O-H⋯N/O, N-H⋯N/O and C-H⋯N/O hydrogen bonds, which form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)[Mo(CN)(8)]·5H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethane-1,2-diamine ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry, while the Mo(IV) atom is coordianted by eight cyanide ligands. The Ni-N bond distances range from 2.1061 (18) to 2.1425 (18) Å. The Mo-C and C-N distances in the [Mo(CN)(8)] unit range from 2.154 (2) to 2.174 (2) Å and 1.149 (3) to 1.156 (3) Å, respectively. The complex ions and water mol-ecules are linked by weak N-H⋯N/O and O-H⋯N/O hydrogen bonds into a three-demensional structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)]Cl(3)·4H(2)O, contains discrete [Co(bpy)(3)](3+) cations (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine), Cl(-) anions and water mol-ecules. The [Co(bpy)(3)](3+) complex cation exhibits C(2) symmetry with the twofold axis through the central Co atom and bis-ecting one bpy ligand and one of the Cl(-) anions. The four solvent water mol-ecules and the remaining two Cl(-) anions lie on a mirror plane. Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(3)H(10)N(2))(3)][Ni(CN)(4)], is built up of [Ni(pn)(3)](2+) cations (pn is 1,2-diamino-propane) and [Ni(CN)(4)](2-) anions. Both Ni(II) atoms in the cation and the anion lie on a mirror plane. The respective ions inter-act through Coulombic forces and through a complex network of hydrogen bonds. Extended disorder associated with the cation has been resolved. The occupancies of the respective disordered positions are 0.4:0.4:0.2.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(3)H(10)N(2))(3)][Pt(CN)(4)], the [Pt(CN)(4)](2-) anion with the environment of the Pt(II) atom, lying on a mirror plane, is square planar, whereas the Ni(II) atom in the [Ni(C(3)N(2)H(10))(3)](2+) cation, also lying on a mirror plane, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. In both anions, the F atoms are disordered over two positions; in one the site-occupancy factors are 0.55 and 0.45, in the other the values are 0.69 and 0.31.
