Acetonitrile-{3-[bis-(2-pyridyl-methyl-κN)amino-κN]propanol-κO}(perchlorato-κO)copper(II) perchlorate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(C(2)H(3)N)(C(15)H(19)N(3)O)]ClO(4), the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by three N atoms and a hydroxyl-O atom of the tetra-dentate ligand, an O atom of a perchlorate ion and an N atom of an acetonitrile ligand giving a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral environment around the copper(II) atom. There is an offset inter-complex face-to-face π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.718 (2) Å] involving one of the pyridine rings of the ligand as well as an intra-complex O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-action between the coordinated hydroxyl group of the ligand and the perchlorate counter-ion.

The perchlorate anion is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.53 (2) and 0.47 (2). An inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-action between the free hy-droxy group of the ligand and a nitrate O atom of an adjacent complex unit, gives a chain structure which extends across the (101) planes.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(5)H(4)N(4)S(4))(2)(C(2)H(3)N)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·C(2)H(3)N}(n), the Cu(II) atom occupies a crystallographic inversion centre and is six-coordinated by six N atoms of four symmetry-related 2,2'-(methyl-enedithio)bis-(1,3,4-thia-diazole) (L) ligands and two acetonitrile mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The ligand L adopts an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging the Cu atoms via translation symmetry, forming a two-dimensional layer-like structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the layers into a three-dimensional network. The ClO(4) (-) anion is disordered with an occupation ratio of 0.658:0.342.

The chains aggregate into pseudo-layers parallel to the (101) crystal planes by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. Unligated perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules of crystallization provide additional hydrogen bonding between pseudo-layers.

Project description:The central CuN(2)O(4) motif of the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], exhibits a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral geometry around the metal atom, showing a considerably long Cu-O bond distance of 2.5058 (12) Å towards the second perchlorate group, giving a (4 + 1+1)-type coordination mode. In the crystal, the components are linked via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (001). Additional stabilization within these layers is provided by π-π [centroid-centroid distances of 3.7848 (9)-4.4231 (9) Å] stacking inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was obtained unexpectedly by the reaction of copper(II) perchlorate hexa-hydrate with equimolar amounts of 1-chloro-1-nitro-2,2,2-tripyrazolylethane in methanol solution. The crystal structure comprises octa-hedrally coordinated Cu(2+) ions, located on an inversion centre, with four pyrazole ligands in the equatorial plane. The average Cu-N distance is 2.000 (1) Å. Two perchlorate ions are coordinated to copper in trans positions [Cu-O = 2.4163 (11) Å].

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)][Zn(ClO(4))(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(3), two differently coordinated zinc cations occur. In the first complex, the metal ion is coordinated by the N,N',N'',O-tetra-dentate acetamide ligand and an acetonitrile N atom, generating an approximate trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry, with the O atom in an equatorial site and the acetonitrile N atom in an axial site. In the second complex ion, a perchlorate ion is also bonded to the zinc ion, generating a distorted trans-ZnO(2)N(4) octa-hedron. Of the uncoordinating perchlorate ions, one lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and one lies close to a twofold axis and has a site occupancy of 0.5. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal. Disordered solvent mol-ecules occupy about 11% of the unit-cell volume; their contribution to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE routine of the PLATON program [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst.
