ABSTRACT: IN THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 3,3'-dimethoxy-2,2'-(ethane-1,2-diyldioxy)dibenzaldehyde], C(18)H(18)O(6), prepared from 1,2-dibromo-ethane and ortho-vanillin in the presence of sodium carbonate, the two vanillin units are linked via a CH(2)-CH(2) bridge. The two benzene rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 41.6 (5)°.
