ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title compound, [Co(III)(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(3))(C(5)H(5)N)(3)]ClO(4), the Co(III) ion is coordinated by three pyridine mol-ecules and one N'-(3-meth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)benzohydrazidate Schiff base ligand in an O,N,O'-tridentate manner. The Co(III) ion adopts a distorted CoN(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(17)H(15)ClN(2)O(5))(C(5)H(5)N)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by one N atom and two O atoms from an anionic salicyl-aldehyde benzoyl-hydrazone ligand and one pyridine N atom in a distorted square-planar geometry. The bonds displays the usual elongation with mean Cu-O and Cu-N bond lengths of 1.926 and 1.976 Å, respectively. The pyridine ring makes dihedral angles of 26.12 (13) and 11.08 (12)°, respectively, with the trimeth-oxy-phenyl and phenolate rings, which make a dihedral angle of 16.05 (12)° with one another.

In the L ligand, the two benzene rings are nearly parallel, forming a dihedral angle of 2.0 (1)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link pairs of mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers which exhibit π-π inter-actions between the aromatic rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.677 (5) Å].

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric zinc(II) complex, [Zn(2)(C(4)H(13)NO(2))(2)(C(6)H(5)N)(2)], each Zn(II) atom is coordinated by two 2-[(2-oxidobenzyl-idene)amino-meth-yl]phenolate (L) ligands and one pyridine (py) mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Each L ligand behaves as a tridentate ligand and provides a phenolate oxygen bridge which links the two Zn(II) atoms. The ZnL(py) units are linked by π-π inter-actions between adjacent pyridine mol-ecules, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.724 Å, resulting in a two-dimensional structure.

Project description:The V(V) atom in the title complex, [V(C(14)H(8)BrClN(2)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], is six-coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one enolic O atom of the hydrazone ligand, one oxide O atom, one methanol O atom and one methoxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the hydrazone ligand is 13.2 (3)°. The deviation of the V atom towards the oxide O atom from the plane defined by the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligand and the meth-oxy O atom is 0.318 (2) Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar oxidovanadium(V) complexes with hydrazone ligands. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

The O=Mo=O angle is 105.31 (6)°. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present in the structure.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(11)N(3)OS)(C(5)H(5)N)], the Cu(II) atom exhibits a slightly distorted square-planar CuN(2)OS coordination polyhedron consisting of a phenyl O, an azomethine N and a thio-amide S atom from the tridentate thio-semicarbazonate dianion, and the N atom of a pyridine mol-ecule. The thio-semicarbazonate ligand exists in the thiol tautomeric form as an E isomer. Rotational disorder of the pyridine and phenyl rings in a 1:1 ratio of the respective components is observed. An extensive network of weak N-H⋯S, C-H⋯O, C-H⋯N and C-H⋯S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions consolidates the structure.

The V(V) ion is displaced by 0.464 (1) Å from the basal plane towards the axial oxide O atom. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding occurs. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is also observed in the crystal structure.
