Dichloridobis[2-(morpholin-4-yl)ethanamine-κN,N']cadmium.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CdCl(2)(C(6)H(14)N(2)O)(2)], the Cl and Cd(II) atoms are located on a twofold rotation axis and the Cd(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by two N,N'-bidentate 2-(morpholin-4-yl)ethanamine ligands and two trans-located Cl atoms. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure. An intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [CdBr2(C20H17N3)(C3H7NO)], synthesized from the quinoline-derived Schiff base 2-(1H-indol-3-yl)-N-(quinolin-2-yl-methyl-ene)ethan-amine (IQME), the coordination geometry around the Cd(2+) atom is distorted trigonal bipyramidal, the axial positions being occupied by the quinoline N atom [Cd-N = 2.401 (3) Å] and one di-methyl-formamide O-atom donor [Cd-O = 2.399 (2) Å]. The equatorial plane is formed by the imine N atom [Cd-N = 2.293 (3) Å] and two bromides [Cd-Br = 2.5621 (8) and 2.5676 (8) Å], with the deviation of the Cd(II) atom from the equatorial plane being 0.046 (1) Å. An intra-molecular C-H⋯Br inter-action occurs. In the crystal, N-H⋯Br inter-actions generate [101] chains.

Project description:The amine title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(7)H(13)N(3))], resulted from imine hydrolysis in a Schiff base compound. The Zn metal atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry with the most significant deviation identified in the magnitude of the N-Zn-N angle. This deviation stems from the participation of the Zn and N atoms in a six-membered metallocyclic ring. The latter is in an approximate screw-boat conformation. Two strong N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into ribbons propagating along the b-axis direction. The ribbons contain two second-order hydrogen-bonded motifs: a chain and a ring. The chain described by the graph set notation C(2) (2)(6) is formed by one hydrogen bond going in the forward direction (donor to acceptor) and the other in the backward direction (acceptor to donor). In the ring motif R(2) (2)(8), both hydrogen bonds propagate in the forward direction.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnCl(2)(C(8)H(7)N(3))(2)], the Zn(II) cation is coordinated by two Cl(-) anions and two 4-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the two 4-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)pyridine ligands, the dihedral angles between the pyrazole and pyridine rings are 3.3 (3) and 13.3 (3)°. Inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.
