ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(5)H(4)F(6)O(3), a polyfluorinated derivative of β-hy-droxy-butyric acid, comprises two mol-ecules. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds give rise to the formation of carb-oxy-lic acid dimers. Along with these hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯O contacts connect the mol-ecules into infinite strands along the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C(8)H(7)F(3)N(2)O, the OH and NH(2) substituents adopt a Z configuration with respect to the C=N bond. The hy-droxy-imidamide unit is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.007 Å) and subtends an angle of 26.25 (13)° with the benzene ring. The F atoms of the trifluoro-methyl substituent are disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.783 (15):0.217 (15). In the crystal, O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds form centrosymmetric dimers. Additional N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the dimers into zigzag chains along the b axis. Weak inter-molecular F⋯F contacts of 2.714 (5) Å are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(15)NO(6)S, features a distorted tetra-hedral geometry for the S atom. One of the sulfonamide O atoms is approximately coplanar with the benzene ring [C-C-S-O torsion angle = -160.81 (7)°], whereas the other lies well below the plane [C-C-S-O = -29.66 (8)°]. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains parallel to the b axis.

The piperidine ring adopts a distorted boat conformation. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(14) loops.

Helical supra-molecular C(7) chains sustained by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds propagating along the a-axis direction feature in the crystal packing. The F atoms of one of the CF(3) groups are disordered over two orientations; the major component has a site occupancy of 0.824 (7).

Project description:The title compound, a major animal feed supplement, abbreviated as HMTBA and alternatively called dl-me-thio-nine hy-droxy analogue, C5H10O3S, (I), was isolated in pure anhydrous monomeric form. The melting point is 302.5 K and the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, with two conformationally non-equivalent mol-ecules [(I A ) and (I B )] in the asymmetric unit. The crystal structure is formed by alternating polar and non-polar layers running along the bc plane and features an extensive hydrogen-bonding network within the polar layers. The Hirshfeld surface analysis revealed a significant contribution of non-polar H⋯H and H⋯S inter-actions to the packing forces for both mol-ecules.

Project description:The cation of the title compound, C(6)H(8)NO(2) (+)·Cl(-), is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0104 Å). Intermolecular O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, as well as C-H⋯O contacts, connect the mol-ecules in the crystal structure. A short C⋯C distance of only 3.3930 (19) Å between C atoms of neighbouring rings is indicative of π-stacking. The corresponding centroid-centroid distance between the two aromatic systems is 4.2370 (7) Å due to the small overlap of the adjacent rings.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt solvate, C(17)H(17)F(6)N(2)O(+)·C(7)H(5)N(2)O(4) (-)·1.5H(2)O, comprises a piperidin-1-ium cation, a 3-amino-5-nitro-benzoate anion, and three fractionally occupied [i.e. 0.414?(3), 0.627?(6) and 0.459?(5)] disordered water mol-ecules of solvation. The cation has an L shape with a C-C-C-C torsion angle of -102.9?(3)° for the atoms linking the quinolinyl group to the rest of the cation. In the anion, the carboxyl-ate and nitro groups are essentially coplanar with the benzene ring [O-C-C-C torsion angle = 179.7?(2)° and O-N-C-C torsion angle = -3.9?(3)°]. In the crystal, extensive O-H?O, O-H?F and N-H?·O hydrogen bonding leads to the formation of a layer in the ab plane.
