Bis(cytosinium) aqua-penta-chlorido-indate(III).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(4)H(6)N(3)O)(2)[InCl(5)(H(2)O)], comprises two independent cytosinium cations and an aquapentachloridoindate anion. The In(III) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, alternating layers of cations and anions are arranged along [010] and are linked via inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (001). Additional stabilization within these sheeets is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The Sn, Cl and water O atoms of the title compound, [Sn(2)(CH(3))(4)Cl(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·C(10)H(20)O(5), lie on a special position of 2 site symmetry. The Sn(IV) atom shows cis-C(2)SnCl(2)O trigonal-bipyramidal coordination [C-Sn-C = 157.0?(1)°]; however, two [Me(2)SnCl(2)(H(2)O)] units are linked by a tin-chlorine bridge [Sn?Cl = 3.247?(1)?Å] across a center of inversion, generating a dinuclear species, so that the geometry is better regarded as a mer-C(2)SnCl(3)O octa-hedron. The crown ether inter-acts through O-H?O hydrogen with the metal atom through the coordinated water mol-ecules in an outer-sphere manner, generating a hydrogen-bonded chain running along [101]. The 15-crown-5 mol-ecule is disordered over the 2/m site.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[SbCl(5)], contains one cation and half of the anion on a special position (specifically, the Sb(III) ion and three chloride anions are situated on a mirror plane). In the [SbCl(5)](2-) unit, the Sb(III) ion is coordinated by five chloride anions [Sb-Cl = 2.3721 (11)-2.6656 (12) Å] in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. However, one chloride anion from a neighbouring [SbCl(5)](2-) unit provides a short Sb⋯Cl contact of 3.3600 (12) Å and completes the Sb coordination environment up to an elongated octa-hedron. In the crystal, N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link cations and anions into columns propagating along [100].

Tris(2-amino-pyridinium) hexa-chlorido-indate(III).

Project description:The Schiff base (E)-4-chloro-2-[(pyridin-2-yl-imino)-meth-yl]phenol was reacted with InCl(3)·4H(2)O, generating the title molecular salt, (C(5)H(7)N(2))(3)[InCl(6)]. The octa-hedral hexa-chlorido-indate(III) anion is located on an inversion centre, and one half of the anion and two crystallographically independent cations form the asymmetric unit. One of the cations is located on a twofold rotation axis and its intra-ring C and N atoms simulate this symmetry by exchanging their positions in statistical disorder. In the crystal, weak N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and two types of π-π interactions with centroid-centroid separations of 4.047 (3) and 4.202 (3) Å are observed.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C10H15)2]2[CoCl4]·2CH2Cl2, was isolated as a dichloromethane solvate and was formed in the reaction between lithium penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienide and anyhydrous cobalt(II) chloride in tetra-hydro-furan. There are two deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cations, one tetrachloridocobaltate(II) anion and two di-chloro-methane solvent mol-ecules in the formula unit. There is a slight disorder of the di-chloro-methane solvent which was treated with a two-site model [occupancy rates = 0.765 (4) and 0.235 (4)]. The di-chloro-methane mol-ecules display significant C-H⋯Cl inter-actions with the tetrachloridocobaltate(II) dianion. The cobalt atom of the deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cation sits on a twofold rotation axis, with only one penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene ligand being unique and the second generated by symmetry. The cobalt atom of the [CoCl4](-2) ion sits on a special site with -4 symmetry, with one unique chloride ligand and the others generated by the fourfold inversion axis.

Project description:In the cation of the title compound, [Co(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)][In(C(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)], the Co(III) atom is coordinated by six N atoms from three ethyl-enediamine mol-ecules. The Co(III)-N bond lengths lie in the range 1.956 (4)-1.986 (4) Å. In the anion, the In(III) atom is seven-coordinated by six O atoms from three oxalate ligands and by a water mol-ecule. The cations and anions are linked by extensive O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a supermolecular network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ir2Cl4(C12H19)2], a versatile starting material for the preparation of uniquely substituted penta-alkyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl-iridium complexes, consists of an iridium(III) atom, a substituted cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand and two chlorine ligands. The full dimer is generated by an inversion center. In the dimer, the two Ir(III) atoms and two bridging Cl atoms form a perfectly planar ring. The two Ir(III) atoms and the two terminal Cl atoms also form a rigorous plane that is orthogonal [89.48 (3)°] to the Ir2Cl2 ring. The plane of the cyclo-penta-dienyl ligand forms a dihedral angle of 54.06 (7)° with respect to the Ir2Cl2 ring.

Project description:The title half-sandwich rhodium(III) complex, [Rh(C10H15)(C7H7O3S)2(H2O)]·H2O, consists of a π-bonded penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl group, two σ-bonded tosyl-ate groups and an aqua ligand. The structure displays both inter- and intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. The inter-molecular hydrogen bonding results in an extended helical chain along a 21 screw axis parallel to c, due to hydrogen bonding from the coordinating water ligand to the lattice water mol-ecule and then to a sulfonate O atom of a different asymmetric unit.

The crystal structure shows several close H⋯F contacts between the hexa-fluorido-phosphate counter-ions and the C5Me5 ligands.

Project description:The title compound, (C(7)H(11)N(2))(3)[Nd(2)Cl(4)(H(2)O)(10)]Cl(5)·2H(2)O, consists of three 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations, one of which is disordered about an inversion center, one [Nd(2)Cl(4)(H(2)O)(10)](2+) dication possessing inversion symmetry, five chloride anions, one of which is disordered over two inversion centers, and two lattice water mol-ecules. The 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations are protonated at the pyridine N atoms and form N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds with Cl(-) counter-ions. The dimethyl-amino groups (C/N/C) lie close to the plane of the pyridinium rings, making dihedral angles of 1.6 (6)° and 6.5 (3)°. In the crystal, the [Nd(2)Cl(4)(H(2)O)(10)](2+) dications are linked via O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets lying parallel to the bc plane. These sheets are linked via O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. The 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations are located in the cavities and linked to the framework by C-H⋯Cl interactions.
