Dichlorido[2,4-dimethyl-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)aniline-κN,N']dimethyl-tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(CH(3))(2)Cl(2)(C(14)H(14)N(2))], contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules. In each mol-ecule, the Sn(IV) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by one bidentate 2,4-di-methyl-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)aniline ligand, two methyl groups and two Cl atoms. In the crystal, inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules. There are π-π contacts between the pyridine rings of the ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.761 (4) Å].
