ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(2)Cl(4)(C(7)H(8)N(4))(2)], contains a dinuclear complex molecule in which each Co(II) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two N atoms and two chloride ions. The 1,1'-methyl-enebis(1H-imidazole) ligands adopt a bis-monodentate bridging mode linking two Co(II) atoms.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(CH(3)CO(2))Cl(C(14)H(14)N(4))](n), is a one-dimensional coordination polymer in which the Zn(II) ion is tetrahedrally -coordinated by two N atoms of a bridging 1,1'-[1,4-phenyl-enebis(methyl-ene)]di-1H-imidazole ligand, an acetate O atom and a Cl atom. The Cl atom, two acetate O atoms and two acetate C atoms are located on a mirror plane. The coordination of the diimidazole ligand to the Zn(II) ion gives an infinite one-dimensional zigzag structure along the b-axis direction with the charge balanced by the chloride and acetate ions.

Project description:In the binuclear title compound, [Cu(2)(NO(2))(4)(C(4)H(6)N(2))(4)], centro-symmetric-ally related complex mol-ecules are linked via weak Cu-O inter-actions, forming dimeric units. The Cu(II) atom displays an elongated square-pyramidal CuN(2)O(3) coordination geometry with a slight tetra-hedral distortion of the basal plane [maximum deviation = 0.249 (2) Å]. The dihedral angle formed by the imidazole rings is 26.20 (10)°.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)](n), contains two Cd(II) cations, three 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and four Cl(-) anions. The two Cd(II) atoms have quite different coordination environments: one is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms and two N atoms from two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and the second is in a severely distorted fivefold coordination by four Cl atoms and one N atom from a 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand. Adjacent Cd(II) cations are inter-connected alternately by pairs of chloride bridges, generating an infinite step-like chain along the a axis. One ethyl group of the 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand is disordered over two sets of sites with a 0.668 (13):0.332 (13) site-occupancy ratio.

Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate O atoms of 4-methyl-benzoate lead to an infinite chain. These chains are further self-assembled into a two-dimensional layer through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the imidazole ligands and carboxyl-ate groups. One of the imidazole ligands is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.737 (4) and 0.263 (4).

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(C(8)H(8)O(2))(2)], consists of centrosymmetric monomeric units, in which the Cu(II) atom has a tetra-gonally distorted octa-hedral coordination involving two imidazole N atoms and two carboxyl-ate O atoms in the square plane [Cu-N = 1.964 (3) and Cu-O = 1.960 (2) Å] and 2-methyl-benzoic acid O atoms in axial sites [Cu-O = 2.753 (3) Å]. Within the complex, the carb-oxy-lic acid forms intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, while the mol-ecules are assembled through N-H⋯O(carbox-yl) hydrogen bonds into chains extending along the a-axis direction. These chains are further linked by weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.930 (2) Å].
