Structure-activity relationships of the phosphonate antibiotic dehydrophos.

ABSTRACT: Synthetic derivatives of the phosphonate antibiotic dehydrophos were tested for antimicrobial activity. Both the phosphonate monomethyl ester and the vinyl phosphonate moiety proved to be important for bacteriocidal activity of the natural product.
