Direct displacement of alkoxy groups of vinylogous esters by Grignard reagents.

ABSTRACT: The direct displacement of alkoxy groups from the β position of aromatic and unsaturated esters and ketones is described. The reaction is chemo- and regioselective, displaying wide substrate scope.
