ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(11)H(11)N(3)O(3), was obtained by the reaction of 3-meth-oxy-salicyl-aldehyde with cyano-acetohydrazide in methanol. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond in the mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating chains running along the b axis.
