ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(NO(3))(2)(C(24)H(20)N(2)O(2))], the Cd(II) ion is eight-coordinated by one ligand and two nitrate ions. There are C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.319 (1) Å] in the crystal structure.

The ligands link the Co(II) ions into a linear chain running along [201]. One O atom of the nitrate ligand is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.59 (4) and 0.41 (4).

Project description:A novel metal-organic framework based on 1,3-bis-(imidazol-1-ylmeth-yl)benzene (1,3-bimb), [Cd(NO(3))(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(2)](n), has been synthesized hydro-thermally. The structure exhibits a two-dimensional metal-organic (4,4)-net composed of Cd(II) atoms and bimb ligands, and such layers are further joined through inter-layer C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the five-coordinated Cu(II) atom has a distorted square-pyramidal CuN(4)O environment; the O atom is in the axial position whereas the N atoms from two bipyridine (bipy) ligands are in the equatorial plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are assembled by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and π-π inter-actions between bipy groups [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7686 (16) and 3.7002 (16) Å] into a three-dimensional network. The nitrite anion is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(24)H(16)N(6))(CH(4)O)(2)], displays a centrosymmetric dinuclear structure, in which the 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine (tppz) ligand links two Cd ions separated by 7.323 (4) Å. Each Cd(II) center is seven-coordinated by three N-atom donors of tppz in one plane, by two O atoms nearly normal to this plane, and by two O atoms 0.393 (3) and 0.488 (3) Å from that plane. The two Cd(II) ions are above and below the plane of the pyrazine ring of the tppz ligand, oriented with respect to the pyridine rings at dihedral angles of 38.01 (3) and 31.90 (3)°. The dihedral angle between the two pyridine rings is 41.11 (3)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules.

The Ag(I) ion is located in a square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by four N atoms from four bis-(pyridin-2-yl)amine ligands and one O atom from a nitrate ligand. Weak inter-actions between the Ag(I) ions and the nitrate anions acting in a monodentate mode [Ag⋯O = 2.791 (13) and 2.816 (9) Å for the major component of the nitrate ligand, and 2.865 (8) and 2.837 (8) Å for the minor component] link the complex mol-ecules into a chain along [001]. N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed.
