ABSTRACT: The title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(25)H(21)N(2)P)], is a Pt(II) complex with an NPCl(2) coordination sphere in which the metal is coordinated to the imino N and phosphane P atoms of the ligand and to two chloride ions. The Pt(II) atom is in a distorted square-planar environment and is bound to the ligand via the P and amine N atoms in a cis fashion, with the chlorine atoms located at the two remaining sites.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), was determined to establish the coordination properties of the (phosphan-yl)benzyl-idene-methanamine ligand to platinum. In the unit cell two mol-ecules of cis-[PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)] are accompanied by a dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule. The square-planar Pt(2+) coordination sphere is slightly distorted with the bidentate ligand coordinated via the P and the amine N atoms, and the Cl atoms located cis at the two remaining coordination sites. Parts of the thiophene ring and the solvate molecule were modeled as disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.55 (2):0.45 (2) and 0.302 (10):0.198 (10), respectively. Weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Pt(CH(3))Cl(C(25)H(23)N(2)P)], the N-benzyl-N-(diphenyl-phosphanylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine functions as a bidentate ligand with the pyridyl N atom and the phosphine P atom chelating the Pt(II) ion, forming a six-membered metallocycle. The Pt(II) atom adopts a square-planar coordination geometry with one methyl group and one chloride ligand bonding to the metal center in a cis relationship. C-H⋯π and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions help to consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the title complex, [AuCl(C24H20NOP)], the ligand has N, P and O electron-donating atoms but the Au(I) atom is coordinated only by the 'soft' P atom and an additional Cl atom in an almost linear fashion. Important geometrical parameters include Au-P = 2.2321 (13) Å, Au-Cl = 2.2820 (13) Å and P-Au-Cl = 176.49 (5)°. The furan ring is disordered over two positions in a 0.51 (2):0.49 (2) ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(27)H(26)P(2))] or PdCl(2)[(C(6)H(5))(2)PCH(2)P(C(6)H(4)CH(3))(2)], the palladium center has a distorted square-planar geometry. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angle between the PdP(2) and PdCl(2) planes is 2.95 (4)° in one independent mol-ecule and 5.15 (4)° in the other. The P-Pd-P and P-C-P bond angles are significantly distorted because of the small bite angle of the chelating (bis-phosphino)methane ligand. The steric demands of the substituted rings in the mixed ligand cause a slight elongation of the Pd-P(C(6)H(4)CH(3))(2) bond relative to the Pd-P(C(6)H(5))(2) bond. In one molecule the tolyl ring shows positional disorder in a 0.58 (2):0.42 (2) ratio, in the other molecule the phenyl ring shows positional disorder in a 0.838 (9):0.162 (9) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(27)H(25)O(2)P(2))I(C(3)H(9)P)], was synthesized by the addition of 1-iodo-butane to a solution of the parent cobalt complex {1,3-bis-[(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)-oxy]prop-2-yl}bis-(trimethyl-phosphane)cobalt(II). Two five-membered cobaltocycles with considerable ring bending (sum of inter-nal angles = 516.4 and 517.7°) are formed through two P atoms of the PPh(2) groups and a metallated Csp(3) atom. The Co(II) atom is centered in a trigonal-bipyramidal configuration.

Project description:The racemic title compound, [FePdCl(2)(C(5)H(5))(C(36)H(29)P(2))]·2(CH(3))(2)SO, features a Pd-chelating 1,3-diphosphine, which is substituted at a P-bearing asymmetric C atom by a ferrocenyl group. The Pd(II) atom is in a distorted quadratic coordination by two P and two Cl atoms with bond lengths of 2.2414 (3) and 2.2438 (3) Å for Pd-P, and 2.3452 (3) and 2.3565 (3) Å for Pd-Cl. The conformation of the Pd complex is controlled by an intra-molecular slipped π-π stacking inter-action between a phenyl and a cyclo-penta-dienyl ring with corresponding C⋯C distances starting at 3.300 (2) Å and the distance between ring centroids being 3.674 (2) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The (CH(3))(2)SO solvent mol-ecules are arranged in layers parallel to (101) and are linked in pairs by C-H⋯O inter-actions. One (CH(3))(2)SO mol-ecule is orientationally disordered [occupancy ratio 0.8766 (17):0.1234 (17)] with sulfur in two positions at both sides of its C(2)O triangle.

The two Cl atoms adopt a cis arrangement with the PPh(3) ligand trans to one Cl atom. The N,O,N'-tridentate ligand occupies a mer position in the coordination sphere.

The calculated τ parameter of 0.42 indicates that the coordination geometry is approximately square-pyramidal. Hydrogen bonds involving centrosymmetric N-H⋯Cl inter-actions form dimeric structures. The mol-ecules are stacked along the a and b axes.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, trans-[PtCl2(C19H17P)2], the slightly distorted square-planar coordination sphere of the Pt(II) atom is occupied by two benzyl-diphenyl-phosphane ligands and two chloride atoms in a mutually trans geometry. The effective cone angles for the two phosphane ligands are 160 and 169°. C-H⋯Cl inter-actions generate infinite long chains along [01-1]. Additional C-H⋯π and π-π stacking interactions [centroid-centroid distance = 4.2499 (15) Å and ring slippage = 2.386 Å] are observed.
