Catena-Poly[[aqua-copper(II)]-μ(2)-imino-diacetato-κO,N,O':O'].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(5)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), the imino-diacetate (ida) ligands link the Cu(II) atoms into polymeric zigzag chains running along [010]. Each Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by one N and two O atoms from an ida ligand, one O atom from the neighbouring ida ligand and one water O atom. In the crystal, the polymeric chains are held together via inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Each Cu(II) cation is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms belonging to two fumarate anions, two N atoms from two pyridine mol-ecules and one water mol-ecule, in a square-based pyramidal geometry. Each fumarate anion bridges two Cu(II) cations through the two carboxyl-ate groups in a bis-monodentate fashion to form a one-dimensional polymeric chain along the c axis. Neighbouring chains are linked together to form a two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane via hydrogen bonding inter-actions between uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms and coordinated water mol-ecules of adjecent chains.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(4)H(5)NO(4))(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(H(2)O)], conventionally abbreviated Cu(IDA)(4-OXPy)(H(2)O), where IDA is imino-diacetate and 4-OXPy is 4-(hy-droxy-imino-meth-yl)pyridine, the Cu(II) atom exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry, which is constructed from two O atoms and one N atom from a IDA ligand, one N atom from 4-OXPy ligand and one O atom from water. This mol-ecule looks like a space shuttle, the IDA ligand is its empennage (tail), and the 4-OXPy ligand is its airframe. The complexes are linked into two-dimensional supra-molecular layers parallel to (100) by three pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Two pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further connect these supra-molecular layers, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Cu(C(4)H(2)O(4))(C(3)H(10)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), consists of two Cu(II) atoms, half each of two propane-1,3-diamine ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules, all lying on crystallographic mirror planes, also one fumarate dianion and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule in a general position. The Cu(C(3)H(10)N(2))(H(2)O) units are linked via fumarate dianions into a zigzag chain running along the a axis. A longer Cu-O distance [2.873 (3) Å] is to a water mol-ecule bridging equivalent Cu(II) atoms in adjacent chains, forming a three-dimensional framework. One of the Cu(II) atoms is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment and the other is in a pseudo-octa-hedral geometry of the [5+1] type. O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

The Cd atom and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule are located on a twofold axis. The coordination geometry around the Cd atom is distorted trigonal-pyramidal. Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(11)H(11)NO(6))(H(2)O)], contains a Cu(II) atom in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The metal centre is coordinated in the basal sites by one water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms and one N atom of the tetra-dentate ligand [Cu-O range, 1.9376 (11)-1.9541 (12), Cu-N, 1.9929 (12) Å] while the apical site is occupied by a hydro-quinone O donor atom [Cu-O, 2.3746 (12) Å]. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonding inter-actions involving both hydro-quinone hydr-oxy groups and the coordinated water as donors give a three-dimensional framework structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N(3))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The N atoms of the two chelating symmetry-related 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligands and the O atoms of the two monodentate acetate anions are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.157 (2) Å and the Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.050 (3) Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Bridging through the bis-monodentate 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligand forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.57 (3):0.43 (3) domain ratio.
