ABSTRACT: The title coordination polymer, {[Co(C(18)H(14)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·0.5H(2)O}(n), features a helical polymeric chain that runs along the b axis. The Co atoms are chelated by the carboxyl-ate groups of two 3,3'-(but-2-ene-2,3-di-yl)dibenzoate ligands and the N atoms of a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. The lattice water mol-ecule is disordered about a center of inversion and is connected to the chain by an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. The Co(II) atom shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(9)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))]·0.5H(2)O, the water mol-ecule lies on a twofold rotation axis. The Zn(II) atom is coordinated by three O atoms from two 1-naphthyl-acetate ligands, one monodentate and the other asymmetric bidentate chelate, and two N atoms from a 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand, giving an irregular environment. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are inter-linked through the water mol-ecule by O-H⋯O(carboxyl-ate) hydrogen bonds, together with weak C-H⋯O and bipyridine ring π-π stacking inter-actions [ring centroid separation = 3.761 (2) Å], giving a two-dimensional network structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(14)H(8)O(5))(C(12)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. Two N atoms of the chelating 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dbp) ligand and two O atoms of two different 2,2'-oxydibenzoic (odb) ligands occupy the basal plane while the water O atom completes the square-pyramidal geometry at the apical site. The non-water N(2)O(2) donor atoms are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.0518 (11) Å and the Cu atom is displaced by 0.1507 (11) Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Further coordination via the 2,2'-oxydibenzoate anions forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

The 2,2'-dpa ligand acts as a bridge between neighbouring Ni(II) atoms, forming one-dimensional coordination polymers along [100]. The coordinated water mol-ecules form hydrogen bonds to the carboxyl-ate O atoms of 2,2'-dpa within the same coordination polymer, and one O-H⋯π inter-action is also formed to 2,2'-dpa.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(14)H(8)O(6)S)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by four O atoms from three 4,4'-sulfonyl-dibenzoate (sdba) ligands and two N atoms from one 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bipy) ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The manganese atoms are alternately bridged either by two sdba ligands, with an Mn⋯Mn separation of 12.284 (1) Å, or by two carboxyl-ate groups from two sdba ligands, with an Mn⋯Mn separation of 4.064 (1) Å, thus producing polymeric chains propagated in [101]. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance of 3.730 (3) Å between the aromatic rings of neighbouring polymeric chains] further stabilize the crystal packing.

Each Ni(II) atom is chelated by two oxalate ligands and one 2,2'-bipyridine, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Oxlate acts as a bridge to link neighbouring pairs of Ni(II) cations, forming a one-dimensional wave-like chain. The crystal showed partial inversion twinning.

The Cu(2+) ion is six-coordinated by three water O atoms, and two N atoms and one O atom of the 2,2'-bipyridine-3,3'-dicarboxyl-ate bridging ligand in a sligthly distorted octa-hedral environment. The 2,2-bipyridine-3,3'-dicarboxyl-ate bridges link the Cu(2+) ions into chains along the b-axis direction. These chains are further linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water solvent mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The title complex, {[Mn(C(14)H(8)O(4)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), has a one-dimensional chain structure in which the Mn(II) atom is six-coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands and two O atoms from two 2,2'-dithio-dibenzoate (L) ligands. The L ligands adopt a bis-(monodentate) (syn-anti) coordination mode and bridge adjacent Mn(II) centres, generating a chain running along [201]. Adjacent chains are linked into a two-dimensional network, parallel to (10), via inter-chain C-H⋯π and π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.477 (1) Å] inter-actions. The structure also contains numerous hydrogen-bonding interactions, which further link the two-dimensional entities into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.
