Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(11)H(9)ClN(4)O(3), pairs of N-H⋯N(imidazole) hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers, which are further connected by N-H⋯O(carbamo-yl) hydrogen bonds into C(4) chains along [010]. Inter-play of these two kinds of hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into layers perpendicular to [101]. The imidazole [maximum deviation 0.0069 (9) Å] and phenyl rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 58.44 (6)°; the nitro group is almost coplanar [dihedral angle 5.8 (2)°] with the imidazole ring while the carbamoyl group is almost perpendicular [70.15 (13)°] to it.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(3)H(2)ClN(3)O(2), is almost planar; the dihedral angle between the imidazole ring and the nitro group is 1.7 (2)°. In the crystal structure, pairs of inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link inversion-related mol-ecules into dimers, generating R(2) (2)(10) ring motifs. The dimers are inter-connected into two-dimensional networks parallel to (102) via inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by short inter-molecular Cl⋯O inter-actions [3.142 (2) and 3.1475 (19) Å].

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C13H13N3O2, the planes of the benzene and imidazole rings form a dihedral angle of 7.72 (5)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (100). A weak C-H⋯π inter-action connects these layers into a three-dimensional network. A π-π stacking inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.5373 (9) Å, is also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(C(6)H(9)N(3)O(3))(2)]NO(3), the Ag atom is bicoordinated in a distorted linear configuration by two 1-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-2-methyl-5-nitro-imidazole ligands through one of the N atoms. The dihedral angle between the two imidazole rings is 16.1 (2)°. The O atoms of the nitrate anion are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are 0.8 and 0.2. The ions are -connected by C-H⋯O inter-actions, while two weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions producing an S(6) ring motif are observed. The nitrate anion is linked to the hydroxyl groups of two neighbouring cations by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The ions are packed into infinite chains along the [100] direction.

Project description:In the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), the carboxyl-ate groups of the 3-nitro-phthalate dianion ligand coordinate the Zn(II) ion in a bis-monodentate mode. The Zn(II) ion shows distorted tetra-hedral coordination as it is bonded to two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of symmetry-related 3-nitro-phthalate anions and two N atoms of two independent 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The bridging 3-nitro-phthalate ligand allows the formation of one-dimensional chains in the c direction. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C13H13N3O3, the 2-(2-methoxphen-yl)ethenyl unit is connected to the methyl-nitro-imidazole 1-methyl-4-nitro-1H-imidazole moiety. The mol-ecule is quasi-planar and the planes of the two rings form a dihedral angle of 0.92 (11)°. The crystal packing can be described as layers parallel to the (011) plane, stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation of an infinite three-dimensional network linking these layers. Strong π-π stacking inter-actions are observed, viz. benzene-benzene, imidazole-imidazole and benzene-imidazole rings, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.528 (2), 3.457 (2) and 3.544 (2) Å, respectively. Intensity statistics indicated twinning by non-merohedry, with refined weighs of the twin components of 0.3687:0.6313.

1-Methyl-6-nitro-1H-benzimidazole.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(7)N(3)O(2), a potential anti-tumour drug and an anti-oxidant agent, was studied in order to give more insight into structure-function relationships. The 1-methyl-benzimidazole unit of the mol-ecule was found to be exactly planar and the nitro group is inclined at an angle of 10.4 (2)° to the plane of the heterocycle. The bond lengths in the present derivative were analyzed in details and compared with those of the parent unsubstituted analogues in the Cambridge Structural Database. The results have shown that the additional nitro group is not involved in conjugation with the adjacent π-system and hence has no effect on the charge distribution of the heterocyclic ring.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C9H9N3O2S, is built up from fused five- and six-membered rings connected to methyl-sulfanyl and nitro groups, respectively. The mean plane through the fused ring system is inclined slightly relative to the plane passing through the nitro group [dihedral angle = 3.6 (2)°]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between imidazole rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.667 (3) Å], forming a three-dimensional network.
