Characterization of DC1, a broad-host-range Bcep22-like podovirus.

ABSTRACT: Bcep22-like phages are a recently described group of podoviruses that infect strains of Burkholderia cenocepacia. We have isolated and characterized a novel member of this group named DC1. This podovirus shows many genomic similarities to BcepIL02 and Bcep22, but it infects strains belonging to multiple Burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC) species.
