Ammonium diamminesilver(I) bis-(5-chloro-2-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate) trihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The reaction of silver nitrate with 5-chloro-2-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonic acid in the presence of ammonia yielded the title salt, (NH(4))[Ag(NH(3))(2)](C(6)H(4)ClO(4)S)(2)·3H(2)O. The Ag(I) ion shows linear coordination [N-Ag-N = 175.2 (1) °]. The ammonium and diamminesilver cations, the benzene-sulfonate anion and the lattice water mol-ecules inter-act through an intricate network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network.

The crystal structure is further stabilized by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to the fomation of a ribbon-like network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mg(H(2)O)(6)](C(7)H(5)O(6)S)(2)·2H(2)O, the octa-hedral complex cation lies on an inversion centre and is hydrogen bonded through the coordinated water molecules to the substituted benzene-sulfonate monoanions and the water mol-ecules of solvation. These inter-actions together with a carb-oxy-lic acid O-H⋯O(sulfonate) association give a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C(5)H(6)ClN(2) (+)·C(7)H(5)O(6)S(-), contains two independent 2-amino-5-chloro-pyridinium cations and two independent 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anions. In both anions, the O atoms of the sulfonate group are disordered over two sets of positions, with occupancy ratios of 0.47 (5):0.53 (5) and 0.50 (8):0.50 (8). In each anion, an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond generating an S(6) motif is observed. In the crystal structure, the cations and anions are linked via N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (110). The structure is further stabilized by π-π inter-actions between cations and anions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5454 (12) Å]. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin, with a ratio of the twin components of 0.715 (3):0.285 (3).

Project description:Reaction of 5-sulfosalicylic acid with hydrazine hydrate at pH = 1 results in the formation of the title hydrated salt, 0.5N(2)H(6) (2+)·C(7)H(5)O(6)S(-)·2H(2)O. The hydrazinium dications lie on centres of inversion. They are located between 3-carb-oxy-4-hy-droxy-benzene-sulfonate anions, forming inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with sulfonate ions and water mol-ecules of crystallisation. Further intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the anion of the title salt, C2H6NO2 (+)·C7H5O6S(-), the dihedral angle between the carb-oxy-lic acid group and the benzene ring is 5.02 (12)°. The component ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by a combination of N-H⋯O, N-H⋯N, O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. In addition, benzene-benzene π-π inter-actions of 3.942 (2) Å [inter-planar spacing = 3.390 (2) Å] and C-O⋯π (3.331 Å) inter-actions are observed.
