2-(2H-1,3-Benzodioxol-5-yl)-1,3-benzo-thia-zole.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(9)O(2)S, the benzothia-zole unit is oriented at a dihedral angle of 7.1 (1)° with respect to the benzodioxole unit. The dioxole ring adopts flattened envelope conformation with the methyl-ene C atom at the flap. The crystal packing is stabilized by π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.705 (1) and 3.752 (1) Å], C-H⋯π inter-actions and a short S⋯S contact of 3.485 (1) Å.

The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular C-H?? inter-action. The crystal packing features inter-molecular C-H?N, C-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(18)H(17)NO(4)S, features a 1,3-thia-zolidine ring that is twisted about the S-C(methyl-ene) bond. With reference to this ring, the 1,3-benzodioxole and benzene rings lie to either side and form dihedral angles of 69.72 (16) and 83.60 (14)°, respectively, with the central ring. Significant twisting in the mol-ecule is confirmed by the dihedral angle of 79.91 (13)° formed between the outer rings. Linear supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction mediated by C-H⋯O inter-actions feature in the crystal packing.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(8)H(6)BrNS(2), is almost planar with a dihedral angle of 0.9 (1)° between the benzene and thia-zole rings. The values of the geometry-based index of aromaticity (HOMA) and the nucleus-independent chemical shift (NICS) for the two cyclic fragments of the title mol-ecule are 0.95 and -9.61, respectively, for the benzene ring, and 0.69 and -7.71, respectively, for the thia-zole ring. They show that the benzene ring exhibits substanti-ally higher cyclic π-electron delocalization than the thia-zole ring. Comparison with other similar benzothia-zole fragments reveals a similar trend.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(18)H(10)N(2)S(3), consists of a central thio-phene ring and two terminal thia-zole rings. Project description:In the title compound, C10H11N3O2S, the 1,3-benzodioxole and hydrazinecarbothio-amide fragments are nearly planar [(mean deviations from planarity for non-H atoms of 0.0325 (12) Å and 0.0707 (10) Å, respectively] and subtend a dihedral angle of 29.06 (5)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of almost linear N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers. These dimers are additionally connected by weaker and strongly bent N-H⋯S inter-actions into chains along [101]. There is one additional weak N-H⋯O contact which, if considered as an inter-action, leads to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

The phenyl substituent is twisted by 16.96 (13) and 22.89 (12)° relative to the central imidazo[2,1-b][1,3]benzo-thia-zole unit in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, there are no significant intermolecular interactions present.
