ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [YbCl(2)(C(18)H(15)N(5))(CH(3)OH)(2)]Cl, the pseudo-penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry of the Yb(III) cation is composed of three N atoms from one cis-(±)-2,4,5-tris-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazoline (HL) ligand, two O atoms from two methanol mol-ecules and two Cl(-) anions. Chains are formed along [010] through N-H?Cl, O-H?Cl and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Tb(NO(3))(3)(C(12)H(16)N(3)O(2))(2)], was prepared from the nitroxide radical ligand 4,4,5,5-tetra-methyl--2-(pyridin-2-yl)-imidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide and Tb(III) nitrate. The Tb(III) ion adopts a doubly-capped square-anti-prismatic coord-ination environment defined by three chelating nitrate anions and two N,O-bidentate nitronyl nitroxide radical ligands. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the molecules into a three-dimensional framework. The title structure is isotypic with the Ho analogue [Li (2012 ▶). Acta Cryst. E68, 550].

Project description:In the title compound, C(18)H(14)N(4)O, the mol-ecules are disordered about a crystallographic twofold axis, leading to 50:50 disorder of the O- and N-atom sites within the oxazole ring. As a consequence, symmetry-related oxazole C-N and C-O bonds are averaged. The oxazole ring makes a dihedral angle of 6.920 (1)° with the pyridyl ring in the 2-position and 60.960 (2)° with the pyridyl rings in the 4- and 5-positions.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, [Li{OOP(O-2,6-(i)Pr2C6H3)2}(CH3OH)3]·CH3OH or [Li(C24H34O4P)(CH3OH)3]·CH3OH, have been formed in the reaction between HOOP(O-2,6-(i)Pr2C6H3)2 and LiOH in methanol. The title compound is of inter-est as it represents the first reported crystal structure of the family of lithium phosphate diesters. The {Li(CH3OH)3[O2P(O-(i)Pr2C6H3)2]} unit displays the Li atom in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment and exhibits one intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond between a coordinating methanol mol-ecule and the terminal non-coordinating O atom of the phosphate group. The unit is connected with two non-coordinating methanol mol-ecules through two inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and with a neighbouring unit through two other O-H⋯O inter-actions. These inter-molecular hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of infinite chains along [100]. There are no significant inter-actions between the chains.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)][Zn(ClO(4))(C(22)H(24)N(4)O)(CH(3)CN)](ClO(4))(3), two differently coordinated zinc cations occur. In the first complex, the metal ion is coordinated by the N,N',N'',O-tetra-dentate acetamide ligand and an acetonitrile N atom, generating an approximate trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry, with the O atom in an equatorial site and the acetonitrile N atom in an axial site. In the second complex ion, a perchlorate ion is also bonded to the zinc ion, generating a distorted trans-ZnO(2)N(4) octa-hedron. Of the uncoordinating perchlorate ions, one lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and one lies close to a twofold axis and has a site occupancy of 0.5. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal. Disordered solvent mol-ecules occupy about 11% of the unit-cell volume; their contribution to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE routine of the PLATON program [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. Project description:The crystal structure of title compound, [Yb(NO(3))(3)(C(15)H(15)NO(2))(2)]·H(2)O, contains two Schiff base 2-[(4-methyl-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]-6-methoxy-phenol (HL) ligands, three independent nitrate ions that chelate to the ytterbium(III) ion in an O,O'-bidentate manner and an uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The coordination number of the Yb(III) ion is eight. The HL ligands chelate with a strong Yb-O(phenolate) bond and a weak Yb-O(meth-oxy) contact. The latter augments the coordination polyhedron to give a YbO(10) bicapped square antiprism. Classical inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds as well as weak C-H⋯O contacts contribute to the stability of the structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(3)(C(5)H(9)O(2))(6)O(CH(4)O)(3)]Cl, consists of trinuclear Co(III) complex cations and chloride anions. The Co(III) cation has site symmetry m, and is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from four bridging pivalate groups, one central O anion and a methanol oxygen atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The coordinated methanol mol-ecule is located on a crystallographic special position, the C and O atoms being located on the mirror plane. The central O anion lies in the crystallographic position, and acts as a ?(3)-O bridge, linking three equivalent Co(III) cations and generating the oxo-centered trinuclear Co(III) complex. The chloride anion, which acts as the counter-ion, is located on crystallographic position. O-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the Cl anion and hydroxyl group of the coordinated methanol mol-ecule links the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular network.
