ABSTRACT: The title Schiff base compound, C(15)H(15)NO(2), crystallized as the iminium-phenolate zwitterion. The H atom is localized on the imine N atom, forming a strong intra-molecular hydrogen bond with the phenolate O atom, and giving rise to an S(6) ring motif. The mol-ecule has an E conformation about the C=N bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along [010]. There are also C-H⋯O inter-actions present.

The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 10.13 (9)°. Intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generate S(6) and S(5) loops. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating C(9) chains propagating in the [010] direction.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the 1:1 title salt, C(4)H(12)NO(2) (+)·C(6)H(4)BrO(-), hydrogen-bonding inter-actions originate from the ammonium cation, which adopts a syn conformation. A gauche relationship between the C-O and C-N bonds of the 2-hy-droxy-ethyl fragments also facilitates O-H⋯O inter-actions of bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)ammonium cation chains to phenolate O atoms. The resulting double-ion chains along [100] are further linked by N-H⋯O inter-actions, forming chains parallel to [110].

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C(14)H(13)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)](NO(3))(2), is comprised of two Schiff base 2-meth-oxy-6-(N-phenyl-carboximido-yl)phenol (HL) ligands and three coordinated water mol-ecules. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis that bis-ects one water O atom. The coordination sphere of the five-coordinate Mn atom is completed by the two monodentate HL ligands and three coordinated water mol-ecules binding through their O atoms, affording a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. In the phenolate ligands, the hy-droxy H atom transfers to the imine N atom. This H atom is also involved in an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond that imposes a nearly planar conformation on each ligand, with dihedral angles of 2.78?(3) and 2.43?(5)° between the aromatic rings of each ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(21)NO(5), the dihedral angle between the mean planes through the two rings is 47.1 (8)°. The enoate group assumes an extended conformation. The hy-droxy-ethanimine group is essentially coplanar with the benzene ring, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.061 (1) Å for the O atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into cyclic centrosymmetric dimers with an R(2) (2)(6) motif via pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a C(8) chain along the b axis. The crystal packing is further stabilized by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(10)N(2)O(4), crystallized as the zwitterionic tautomer. As a result, the phenolate C-O(-) bond [1.296 (2) Å] is shorter than a normal Csp(2)-O(H) bond, and the azomethine C=N bond [1.314 (2) Å] is longer than a normal C=N double bond. The mol-ecule is nearly planar, the mean plane of the nitro-substituted benzene ring forming dihedral angles of 9.83 (7) and 8.45 (9)° with the other benzene ring and with the nitro group, respectively. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into double-stranded chains along the b-axis direction. Within the chains there are π-π interactions involving the benzene rings of adjacent molecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.669 (1) Å]. The chains are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming R(2) (1)(6), R(2) (1)(7) and R(2) (2)(10) ring motifs.

Project description:The new title Schiff base compound, C11H15BrN2O2, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21 with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. It was prepared by the condensation reaction of 5-bromo-2-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde and amino-ethyl-ethano-lamine. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond with an S(6) ring motif. Moreover, there are inter-molecular C-H⋯N, C-H⋯O and Br⋯O inter-actions in the crystal structure of the title compound.

Project description:The title compound, C(9)H(12)N(2)OS, was obtained unexpectedly in a multicomponent reaction of an equimolar ratio of phenyl isothio-cyanate, malononitrile and amino-ethanol. The -C(H(2))-N(H)-(C=S)-N(H)- methyl-thio-urea-methane group is almost normal to the phenyl ring, with a dihedral angle of 71.13 (9)°. The N-C-C-O torsion angle is 72.8 (2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H⋯O, O-H⋯S and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(11)NO(3), crystallizes in a zwitterionic form and has a trans configuration about the C=N bond. The mol-ecule is almost planar, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings being 4.32 (8)°. The two hy-droxy substit-uents are coplanar with each of their attached benzene rings [r.m.s. deviations of 0.0053 (2) and 0.0052 (2) Å]. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond formed between the iminium N and the phenolate O atom generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along [110]. Two neighbouring chains are further connected through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds in an anti-parallel manner. π-π inter-actions are also observed, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.7115 (19) and 3.743 (2) Å.
