Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C10H8O3, contains two independent mol-ecules, both of which are almost planar (r.m.s deviations for all non-H atoms of 0.044 and 0.053 Å). The dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the prop-1-yne group are 3.47 (1) and 3.07 (1)° in the two mol-ecules, and the prop-1-yne groups adopt extended conformations. In each mol-ecule, an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond involving the OH and aldehyde substituents forms an S(6) ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into cyclic centrosymmetric dimers via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating R2(2)(14) ring motifs. The crystal structure is further stabilized by aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.813 (2) and 3.843 (2) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title Schiff base compound, C(21)H(26)N(2)O(4), consists of four crystallographically independent mol-ecules, viz. A, B, C and D. The A and D, and the B and C mol-ecules are related by a pseudo-inversion centre, and the remaining pairs of mol-ecules differ in the orientations of one of the meth-oxy groups. In each independent mol-ecule, intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds generate two S(6) ring motifs. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in mol-ecules A, B, C and D are 65.86 (19), 50.41 (19), 68.59 (19) and 50.85 (19)°, respectively. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming R(2) (2)(8) dimers. In addition, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are observed.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title coordination polymer, {[Zn(2)(C(17)H(8)O(10))(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)]·C(3)H(7)NO}(n), the mol-ecular build-ing block (MBB), viz. {Zn(2)(CO(2))(4)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)}, comprises two zinc atoms, each bridged by three carboxyl-ate groups. These two Zn atoms exhibit different coordination environments: a distorted coordination intermediate between trigonal-pyramidal, and square-pyramidal formed by the two coordinated dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules and three carboxylate groups, and a distorted tetra-hedral coordination defined by carboxy-late groups of which three are bidentate bridging and the fourth is a monodentate ligand. Thus, each ligand connects four MBBs, forming the three-dimensional polymer.

In the crystal structure, the anions and water mol-ecules are linked into sheets parallel to the bc plane by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and sustained by C-H⋯O contacts. The linking of the anions and water mol-ecules with the cations by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds creates a three-dimensional extended network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by very weak C-H⋯π inter-actions.
