ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(17)H(19)NO(8) [systematic name = dimethyl 4-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-(3-nitrophenyl)-6-oxocyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylate], the cyclo-hexa-none ring exhibits a chair conformation. The meth-oxy-carbonyl groups are oriented in opposite directions with respect to the cyclo-hexa-none ring. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds links the mol-ecules into chains running parallel to the a axis. These chains are connected by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(12)O(4), is an asymmetric substitution product of benzophenone. Both hy-droxy groups are orientated towards the O atom of the keto group. Intra-molecular as well as inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds can be observed in the crystal structure, with the latter connecting the mol-ecules into chains along the crystallographic b axis. C-H⋯O contacts [C⋯O = 3.3297 (18) Å] are also apparent. The closest centroid-centroid distance between two aromatic systems is 4.9186 (9) Å.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(23)H(29)NO, the cyclo-hexa-none ring has been distorted from the standard chair conformation by the ketone group such that part of the ring is almost flat. The remaining [(4-tert-butyl-anilino)(phen-yl)meth-yl] portion of the mol-ecule is in an equatorial position on the cyclo-hexa-none ring. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 81.52 (8)°. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into infinite one-dimensional chains along the a axis and these chains are stacked down the c axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

The six-membered cyclo-hexane ring of the cation adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation and carries OH and 3-meth-oxy-phenyl substituents at the 2-position and a protonated methyl-aza-niumylmethyl group at the 3-position. In addition, a weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond is observed in the cation. In the crystal, weak O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the components into chains along [010]. A C-H⋯π contact is also observed.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C28H22N4O9, exhibits crystallographically imposed twofold rotational symmetry, with a dihedral angle of 66.0 (2)° between the planes of the two central benzene rings bounded to the central oxygen atom. The dihedral angle between the planes of the central benzene ring and the terminal phenol ring is 4.9 (2)°. Each half of the mol-ecule exhibits an imine E configuration.
