ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(11)H(8)NO(3))(CH(3)COO)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](n), the Cu(II) ion is six-coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, four O atoms from one acetate ligand, one 2-(4-oxo-1,4-dihydro-quinolin-1-yl)acetate ligand and one water mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The 4,4'-bipyridine ligands inter-connect [Cu(C(11)H(8)NO(3))(CH(3)COO)] units, giving rise to a chain along [010]. These chains are further linked to each other by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to (100).

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, [Mn(C(9)H(9)O(2)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mn(2+) cation and the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand lie on a twofold rotation axis. The cation has an MnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment, being coordinated by the O atoms of two water mol-ecules and two monodentate (4-tolyl-sulfan-yl)acetate anions, and by two N atoms of two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands. The latter bridge adjacent cations into linear chains parallel to [010]. The chains are further linked with each other into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The chains are separated by 4,4'-bipyridine and water solvent mol-ecules. Within a chain, the Mn(II) atom is six-coordinated by two N atoms of the bridging 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, three water O atoms and one carboxyl-ate O atom of a single deprotonated 3-(4-carb-oxy-phen-oxy)phthalic acid ligand. Project description:The reaction of 2-hy-droxy-1,4-naphtho-quinone and 4,4'-bipyridine with zinc acetate produced the title compound, [Zn(C(10)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O. The bond lengths and angles around the metal atom indicate a deviation from octa-hedral geometry. The two naphtho-quinone ligands coordinate in a cis fashion, with the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand and the water mol-ecules completing the coordination sphere of the metal atom. The asymmetric unit contains also one free 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules. These mol-ecules make contacts with the complex through O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, creating a layer two-dimensional network parallel to (121).

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))], consists of isolated mol-ecules bis-ected by a twofold rotation axis which goes through the Zn(II) cation and halves the organic base through the central C-C bond. The Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from one mol-ecule of the aromatic base and four O atoms from two bidentate, symmetry-related acetate anions, which coordinate asym-metrically [Zn-O distances of 2.058 (2) and 2.362 (3) Å], while the two Zn-N bond distances are equal as imposed by symmetry [2.079 (2) Å]. The crystal structure is supported by a number of weak C-H⋯O inter-actions and C-H⋯π contacts, with no π-π inter-actions present, mainly hindered by the substituent methyl groups and the relative mol-ecular orientation. The result is a three-dimensional structure in which each mol-ecule is linked to eight different neighbors.
