Catena-Poly[(?-anilido)(?-1,2-dimeth-oxy-ethane-?(3)-O,O':O)sodium].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Na(C(6)H(5)NH)(C(4)H(10)O(2))], the Na(+) cation is coordinated by the N atoms of two anilide anions, two O atoms of a chelating 1,2-dimeth-oxy-ethane (dme) ligand and one O atom of an adjacent dme ligand. The coordination polyhedron around Na(+) corresponds to a distorted square pyramid with the N atoms of the anilide groups and the O atoms of the chelating dme unit at the base and a third O atom at the apical position. The anilide anions act as ?-bridging ligands and the 1,2-dimeth-oxy-ethane mol-ecules display a ?(2)-?(3)-O,O' coordination mode. As a result of this connectivity, a polymeric chain structure parallel to [100] is formed, consisting of Na(2)O(2) and Na(2)N(2) four-membered rings. It should be noted that the remaining H atom of the anilide NH group is not involved in hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title Mn(III) compound, {[Mn(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)COO)]·CH(3)OH}(n), was synthesized by a reaction between mangan-ese(II) acetate and ethyl-enebis(4-meth-oxy-salicylaldimine). The structure is made up of bis-(4-meth-oxy-salicyldene)ethyl-enediaminatomanganese(III) units bridged by acetate groups, with Mn-N = 1.9786 (9), Mn-O = 1.8784 (10) and Mn-O(acetate) = 2.056 (9) and 2.2571 (9) Å, forming a one dimensional polymer (-Mn-acetate-Mn-acetate-) along [100]. The Mn(III) atom is in a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral environment with cis angles ranging from 81.87 (4) to 96.53 (4)° and trans angles ranging from 166.11 (3) to 173.93 (3)°. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to the phenolate O atom. In addition to this classical hydrogen bond, there are weak C-H⋯O inter-actions. The structure was determined from a crystal twinned by pseudo-merohedry.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, [NaNi(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(C(2)N(3))(H(2)O)], is approximately planar, with a maximum deviation from the mol-ecular plane of 0.770 (5) Å. The coordination environment of the Ni(2+) ion is distorted square-planar and it is N(2)O(2) coordinated by the 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate Schiff base ligand. The Na(+) atom is chelated by the four O atoms of the Schiff base ligand, a water ligand and a dicyanamide anion. The structure displays inter-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title salt, [K(2)(C(16)H(12)O(6))](n), was obtained by the reaction of 1,2-bis-[4-(ethyl-carbox-yl)-phenox-yl]ethane with KOH in water. The anion lies on a crystallographic inversion center, which is located at the mid-point of the central C-C bond. The K(+) cation is coordinated by six O atoms, two from the chelating carboxyl-ate group of the anion and four from four neighboring and monodentately binding anions, giving rise to an irregular [KO(6)] coordination polyhedron. The coordination mode of the cation leads to the formation of K/O layers parallel to (100). These layers are linked by the nearly coplanar anions (r.m.s. deviation of 0.064 Å of the carboxyl, aryl and O-CH(2) groups from the least-squares plane) into a three-dimentional network.

Project description:In the molecular structure of the title compound, [NaNi(C18H18N2O4)(NO3)(CH3OH)], the Ni(2+) ion has a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment defined by two N and two O atoms which belong to a Schiff base ligand, viz. 6,6'-dimeth-oxy-2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methanylyl-idene)]diphenolate. Seven O atoms form the coordination environment of the Na(+) ion: four from the Schiff base ligand, two from a bidentate chelating nitrate anion and one O atom from a coordinating methanol mol-ecule. In the crystal, the bimetallic complexes are assembled into chains along the b-axis direction via weak C-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions. Neighbouring chains are in turn connected through bifurcated O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds that involve the coordinating methanol mol-ecules and the nitrate anions, and through π-π stacking inter-actions between phenyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.
