ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(14)O(4), the chromone ring system is close to being planar [maximum deviation = 0.015 (2) Å]. The double bond of the ethyl prop-2-enoate chain adopts an E conformation and an intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S6 ring. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(14) loops. Weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8493 (12) Å] also occur.
