ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Ag(2)(NO(2))(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·2CH(3)CN, is a centrosymmetric dimer in which two bis(diphenylphosphino)methane ligands bridge two Ag(+) ions, forming an eight-membered ring with a short Ag⋯Ag separation of 3.1809 (5) Å. The distorted P(2)O(2) coordination of the cation is completed by two O-donors from a symmetric bidentate chelate NO(2) (-) anion [Ag-O = 2.550 (3) and 2.567 (3) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Au(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·2CH(3)CN, comprises a cyclic cation with a short intra-molecular aurophilic inter-action of 2.9220 (3) Å. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules are located in channels formed by the complex cations that run along the crystallographic c axis. Each counter-anion is also engaged in a C-H⋯O contact with one of the methyl-ene H atoms of a 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) ligand; another C-H⋯O contact involving an aromatic H atom is also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)(C(2)H(4))(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·2C(7)H(8), each Ni atom is coordinated in a trigonal-planar geometry by two P atoms of the bridging 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane (dppm) ligands and by the centroid of the double bond of an ethene ligand. An eight-membered ring comprising the two Ni atoms, four P atoms and the CH(2) groups of the two dppm ligands is thus formed. The methyl group in one of the solvent toluene mol-ecules is disordered over two positions with equal occupancies.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(26)H(20)NO(2)P(2))(2)], contains a central Cu(II) atom surrounded by two homoleptic bidentate ligands, which form two five-membered chelate rings. The Cu atom binds to four O atoms, resulting in a four-coordinate square-planar complex. The asymmetric unit contains half of the complex, the other half being completed by inversion symmetry. The Cu-O bond lengths have similar distances, viz. 1.9153 (10) Å for the pair opposite (trans) each other and 1.9373 (10) Å for the other (trans) pair. The P-O bond lengths are 1.5250 (11) Å, indicating significant electron delocalization across the O-P-C-P-O atoms in the chelate ring, resulting in a longer P-O bond length when compared to a formal double-bond P=O character (much shorter at approximately 1.47 Å). The two inter-secting O-Cu-O angles are both linear at 180°, whilst the remaining L-shaped O-Cu-O bond angles are 88.26 (5) and 91.74 (5)°. The C-C N fragment is slightly distorted from linearity at 177.44 (19)° and the C N bond length of 1.151 (2) Å indicates predominantly triple-bond character.

The ligand adopts a twist conformation, coordinating two metal centers by three pyridyl N atoms and one imine N atom and spanning two Ag(+) ions, resulting in the formation of a helical dimeric structure.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(3)]·2CH(3)OH, consists of two five-membered [Cu(dppe)CN] rings [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane] bridged by one μ(2)-dppe ligand, and two methanol solvent mol-ecules. The angles around the central metal atom indicate that each Cu(I) atom is located in the center of a distorted tetra-hedron. The coordination sphere of each Cu(I) atom is formed by three P atoms from two dppe ligands, and one C atom from the cyanide ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which are formed by the O-H donor group from methanol and the N-atom acceptor from a cyanide ligand.

[Bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane-κP,P']dichloridopalladium(II).

Project description:The title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))], is a slightly distorted square-planar bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane cis-complex of PdCl(2). The structure of a polymorph of the title compound has been described earlier, but the arrangement of the mol-ecules observed in the current structure is distinctively different from that previously reported [Steffen & Palenik (1976 ▶). Inorg. Chem.15, 2432-2439]. The earlier report describes a structure with individual well separated mol-ecules crystallizing in space group P2(1)/n. The polymorph described here, which is isostructrural to its Pt analogue [Babai et al. (2006 ▶). Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem.632, 639-644], crystallizes in C2/c with chains of C2-symmetric mol-ecules stretching parallel to the b axis. The Pd atoms and the bis-phosphino-methane units are located on two different positions created by a non-crystallographic mirror operation with an occupancy of 0.6677 (11) for the major (PCH(2)P)Pd moiety. The positions of the Cl atoms of the minor moiety do coincide perfectly with those of the next mol-ecule along the chain parallel to b, and they are thus not included in the disorder. The phenyl rings also do not take part in the disorder and are common to both the major and minor moieties of the (PCH(2)P)PdCl(2) units. Assuming no defects, mol-ecules in each chain will thus have to be oriented the same way and the effect of the disorder of the (PCH(2)P)Pd unit is thus a reversal in direction of the chains parallel to b. The presence of light streaks of intensity between actual Bragg peaks indicates that a somehow ordered arrangement not resolved in the Bragg diffraction data may be present (i.e. an incommensurate superstructure) rather than a random or domain arrangement of the chains.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear title compound, [Ag(4)(C(12)H(10)O(2)P)(2)(CF(3)O(3)S)(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·2CH(3)CN, the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by one P atom from a bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm) ligand, two O atoms from two diphenyl-phosphinate (dpp) ligands and one O atom from a trifluoro-methane-sulfonate (OTf) anion in a highly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Four Ag(I) atoms are bridged by two dppm ligands, two dpp ligands and two OTf anions, forming a tetra-nuclear complex. An weak intra-molecular Ag?Ag [3.2692?(14)?Å] inter-action is observed. The OTf anion and one of the phenyl groups in the dppm ligand are disordered over two sets of positions in a 0.546?(4):0.454?(4) ratio. The 0.546-occupied OTf is bonded to two Ag atoms in a ?-(?(2)O:O') mode, while the 0.454-occupied OTf is bonded in a ?-(?(2)O:O) mode. The methyl group of the acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule is also disordered over two positions with equal occupancy factors.

Project description:In the dinuclear title compound, [Cu2I2(C3H8N2S)(C25H22P2)2]·1.5CH3CN, each Cu(I) atom exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination with two P atoms from two bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm) ligands, one metal-bridging S atom from the 1-ethyl-thio-urea (ettu) ligand and one iodide ion. The dppm ligand and the bridging S atom of the ettu ligand force the two copper atoms into close proximity, leading to the formation of a close intra-molecular Cu⋯Cu contact [3.3747 (17) Å]. The conformation of the dimeric complex is such that the two dppm ligands are located on one side of the dinuclear metal complex, while the two iodine atoms are pointed towards the other side of the complex, a conformation that is stabilized by two intra-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds between the ettu NH2 and NHEt moieties and the I atoms. Another pair of symmetry-equivalent N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds is established between neighboring mol-ecules across an inversion center, linking mol-ecules into dimers. The dimers are connected with each other and with the inter-stitial acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules via a range of weaker C-H⋯I and C-H⋯S inter-actions and through weak C-H⋯π inter-actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network. One of the acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules is disordered in a 1:1 ratio across a crystallographic inversion center.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(7)H(7)O(3)S)(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of silver toluene-sulfonate with diphenyl-phosphinomethane (dppm) in acetonitrile. There are two unique half-mol-ecules of the complex in the asymmetric unit, together with one water mol-ecule, which is disordered over two positions with site occupancy factors of 0.6 and 0.4. In each centrosymmetric neutral dimeric mol-ecule, two Ag atoms are bridged by a pair of dppm ligands to give an eight-membered Ag(2)P(4)C(2) ring with a distorted AgOP(2) trigonal-planar environment. The Ag-Ag distances of 2.9215?(9) and 3.027?(1)?Å indicate a direct bonding inter-action.
