ABSTRACT: The effect of ligand structure on the cytotoxicity of cationic CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) was systematically investigated using mono- and bidentate ligands. Monothiol-functionalized QDs are more cytotoxic than dithiol-functionalized QDs.
