ABSTRACT: The title compound [Na3(C11H6NO3)2(C2H3O2)] n , crystallized through diffusion of diethyl ether into methanol as needles. There are three crystallographically independent Na(+) cations present, each exhib-it-ing a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, two through coordination by five O atoms and one N atom, and one through coordination by six O atoms. A series of inter-molecular O?Na and N?Na contacts leads to the formation of chains along the a-axis direction.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound [Li(4)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)H(5)OH)(H(2)O)](n), there are four crystallographically independent metal centers each of which is coordinated by four O atoms. The benzene-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate groups act as bidentate-bridging ligands producing a two-dimensional coordination network parallel to the ab plane. The coordination polymer is further stabilized by coordination of water and ethanol mol-ecules by the Li(+) ions. Simultaneously, the water and ethanol mol-ecules are involved in O-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuNa(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(5)(CH(3)COOH)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion center and is coordinated by four O atoms from four acetate ligands, leading to a square-planar geometry. One Na(I) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by four O atoms from four acetate ligands and two bridging water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The other Na(I) atom is coordinated by five O atoms from five acetate ligands and a bridging water mol-ecule. A hy-droxy H atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and is shared by two acetate ligands. The crystal packing exhibits a polymeric layer parallel to (100), which is further stablized by intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The layers are linked by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title mixed-ligand coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Nd(III) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment formed by one water mol-ecule, one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, and five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups. The local coordination polyhedron around the Nd(III) ion is a bicapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(III) centers are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups to form an Nd(2) dimeric unit; these are further connected by 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate linkers, resulting in a layered coordination network.

An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs; in the crystal, inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions help to establish the packing.

Project description:The title compound, {[La2(CH3COO)2(C8H10O4)2(H2O)4]·2H2O} n or [La2(ac)2(e,a-cis-1,4-chdc)2(H2O)4]·2H2O, where ac is acetate and 1,4-chdc is cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-carboxyl-ate anion, is a binuclear lanthanum(III) complex. Each metal atom is deca-coordinated by four O atoms from two distinct 1,4-chdc2- ligands, four O atoms from three acetate groups and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules to form a distorted bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. Two non-coordinated water mol-ecules are also present in the formula unit. The most remarkable feature of this compound is that it possesses a only cis conformation for cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-carb-oxy-lic acid, although the raw material consists of a mixture of cis and trans isomers. The μ3-η2:η2 coordination mode of the bridging acetate group and the flexible di-carboxyl-ate fragments of 1,4-chdc2- results in the formation of infinite two-dimensional lanthanide-carboxyl-ate layers within the crystal structure. The directionality of strong inter-molecular O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions provides robustness to the layers, which leads to the construction of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The crystal studied was refined as a two-component twin.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(C(2)H(6)SO)(2)](n), the Mn(II) ions exhibit similar MnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometries but with different coordination environments. One type of Mn(II) ion is surrounded by five acetate groups and a terminal dimethyl sulfoxide group, while the other lies on a twofold axis and is coordinated by six O atoms from three symmetry-related acetate ions. The acetate anions exhibit three independent bridging modes, which flexibly bridge the Mn(II) ions along the c-axis direction, forming an infinite chain structure; the chains are further inter-connected through weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compounds, [Ce2(C6H3SO4)2(C6H2SO4)2(CH3COOH)] n (1) and [Ce(CH3COO)(C6H2SO4)(H2O)] n (2) were synthesized by solvothermal reaction of Ce(NO3)3·6H2O with 2,5-thio-phenedi-carb-oxy-lic acid (H2TDC, C6H4SO4) and acetic acid in aceto-nitrile or ethanol/water, respectively. These compounds were obtained as single crystals among other crystalline phases. Both compounds belong to the family of three-dimensional coordination polymers. The asymmetric unit of 1 consists of two CeIII cations, two TDC2- dianions, two HTDC- anions and one acetic acid ligand, all of them located in general positions. The two CeIII cations are each coordinated by eight oxygen atoms in the form of distorted square anti-prisms. These are bridged by carboxyl-ate and carb-oxy-lic acid groups, forming mono-periodic hybrid inorganic building units (IBUs), which are connected into a three-dimensional network by the TDC2- and HTDC- ligands. Compound 2 has an asymmetric unit composed of one CeIII cation, one TDC2- dianion, one acetate anion and one water mol-ecule in general positions. The cerium atom is eightfold coordinated by oxygen atoms. Edge-sharing CeO8 polyhedra form a dinuclear IBU (Ce2O14). This IBU is bridged by six TDC2- linkers to nine other IBUs, forming a three-dimensional framework. Both title compounds exhibit additional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Powder X-ray diffraction shows that both compounds were not obtained as pure phases.

These chains are further linked to each other by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to (100).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ce(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(3)](n), contains two Ce(III) cations, three pyridine-3,5-dicarboxyl-ate (pyd) anions and three coordinated water mol-ecules. One Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven carboxyl-ate O atoms from six pyd anions and two water mol-ecules in a square-face-capped square-anti-prismatic geometry. Another Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven O atoms from six pdy anions and one water mol-ecule in a bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The pdy anions bridge the Ce(III) cations, forming the three-dimensional polymeric structure. The crystal structure contains extensive O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. π-π stacking is present in the crystal structure, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.509 (4) Å.

Project description:In title compound, [Tb(C(12)H(9)O(2))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)](n), the Tb atom is nine-coordinated by nine O atoms from three naphthalene-1-acetate and one N,N-dimethyl-formamide ligands. The Tb atoms are linked by three bridging naphthalene-1-acetate ligands into a chain parallel to the b axis. Further stabilization of the structure is accomplished by non-classical C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π interactions.
