ABSTRACT: The whole mol-ecule of the title compound, C14H14N4, is generated by twofold rotation symmetry. The twofold axis bis-ects the central -CH2-CH2- bond and the planes of the pyridine rings are inclined to one another by 65.60 (7)°. In the crystal, there are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions present.

Project description:In the title compound, C14H12Br4N2, the mol-ecule lies across an inversion center and hence the benzene rings are strictly coplanar. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N and weak N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (101). In addition, type II Br⋯Br inter-actions [3.625 (4) Å] complete a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The reaction of benzoyl chloride and ethyl-endi-amine in the presence of potassium thio-cyanate yielded a white solid, C18H18N4O2S2, which consists of two benzoyl-thio-ureido moieties connected by an ethyl-ene chain. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the mol-ecule, the complete mol-ecule being generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. Both thio-urea moieties are in a trans conformation. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, C-H⋯S and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, forming layers parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:The title salt, (C(12)H(12)N(4)O(2))[ReCl(6)], consists of 2,2'-[(1E,2E)-1,2-bis-(hy-droxy-imino)-ethane-1,2-di-yl]dipyridinium cations and [ReCl(6)](2-) anions which are both located on inversion centres. Each cation consists of a glyoxime moiety attached to two protonated pyridine rings in ortho positions. In the crystal, E,E isomers of the cation are observed which differ in the spatial arrangement of the pyridine rings. These rings are positionally disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.786 (7) and 0.214 (7). The geometry of the cation is compared with that of a recently reported dipyridyl-glyoxime with the same configuration. The cations and anions are involved in a network of inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {[Fe(NCSe)2(C12H12N2)(H2O)2]·2C12H12N2·2H2O} n , was obtained by the reaction of iron(II) sulfate hepta-hydrate and potassium seleno-cyanate with 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (bpa) in water. The Fe(II) cation is coordinated by two N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions, two water mol-ecules and two 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (bpa) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In addition, two non-coordinating bpa mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules are present. The Fe(II) cation is located on a center of inversion while the coordinating bpa ligand is located on a twofold rotation axis. The Fe(II) cations are linked by the bpa ligands into chains along the b-axis direction, which are further connected into layers perpedicular to the c axis by O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the non-coordin-ating bpa and the water mol-ecules. The crystal studied was twinned by pseudo-merohedry (180° rotation along c*; contribution of the minor twin component 3.7%).

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, generating (001) sheets. Project description:The crystal structures of three hydrogen-bonded co-crystals of 4-alk-oxy-benzoic acid-1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (2/1), namely, 2C9H10O3·C12H12N2, (I), 2C10H12O3·C12H12N2, (II), and 2C11H14O3·C12H12N2, (III), have been determined at 93, 290 and 93 K, respectively. In (I), the asymmetric unit consists of one 4-eth-oxy-benzoic acid mol-ecule and one half-mol-ecule of 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane, which lies on an inversion centre. In (II) and (III), the asymmetric units each comprise two crystallographically independent 4-alk-oxy-benzoic acid mol-ecules and one 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane mol-ecule. In each crystal, the two components are linked by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a linear hydrogen-bonded 2:1unit of the acid and the base. Similar to the structure of 2:1 unit of (I), the units of (II) and (III) adopt nearly pseudo-inversion symmetry. The 2:1 units of (I), (II) and (III) are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming tape structures.

Project description:In the title compound [Fe(bpe)(Hbpe)Au(CN)2][Au(CN)2]2·bpe·2H2O} n [where bpe = 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethene, C12H10N2], the FeII ion is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral [FeN4O2] environment by two di-cyano-aurate anions, two water mol-ecules and two partially protonated 1,2-di(4-pyrid-yl)ethyl-ene mol-ecules. Di-cyano-aurate anions bridge the FeII cations, forming infinite chains, which propagate along the a-axis direction. The chains are connected via aurophilic inter-actions with two non-coordinated di-cyano-aurate anions for each FeII ion. The polymeric chains inter-act with each other via π-π stacking between the guest bpe mol-ecules and multiple hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(26)H(22)N(4), the mol-ecule is located on an inversion centre and shows an E configuration with respect to each C=N bond. The dihedral angle between the phenyl rings in the diphenyl-hydrazone group is 83.69 (11)°. These two rings make dihedral angles of 30.53 (15) and 84.53 (16)° with the central N-N=C-C=N-N dihydrazonoethane plane. Inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions are observed.
