Diagnostic test sensitivity affects rate estimates for laboratory-confirmed influenza-associated hospitalizations. We used data from FluSurv-NET, a national population-based surveillance system for laboratory-confirmed influenza hospitalizations, to capture diagnostic test type by patient age and influenza season.
