Crystal structure of methyl 2-(7-hy-droxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-4-yl)acetate.

ABSTRACT: In the title coumarin derivative, C12H10O5, the fused ring system is almost planar (r.m.s deviation = 0.016 Å). The Car-C-C=O torsion angle of the side chain is -8.4 (2)° In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating C(8) chains propagating in the [100] direction. The chains are cross-linked by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, thereby generating undulating (001) sheets.

Project description:The whole mol-ecule of the title compound, C(23)H(14)O(6)S, is disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.8733 (12):0.1267 (12). The dihedral angle between the mean planes through the chromene ring systems is 56.31 (5) and 55.2 (3)° for the major and minor components, respectively. In both components, a pair of intra-molecular O-H⋯O inter-actions generate rings of S(8) graph-set motif. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming chains along the b axis. The structure is further stabilized by π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.594 (2) and 3.608 (5) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H18ClNO5, which was synthesized by reacting 4-chloro-3-formyl-coumarin, acetic acid and tert-butyl isocyanide, the acetamido side chain is convoluted with ring-to-side chain C-C-C-C, C-C-C-N and C-C-N-C torsion angles of -123.30 (14), -135.73 (12) and 176.10 (12)°, respectively. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are present, which together with π-π coumarin-ring inter-actions [ring centroid separations = 3.4582 (8) and 3.6421 (9) Å], give rise to a layered structure lying parallel to (001).

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [Fe(C5H5)(C16H11O4)], consists of a ferrocenyl moiety and a 4-methyl-coumarin group linked through an ester unit to one of the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings. The two Cp rings are virually parallel, with an angle between the two least-squares planes of 0.74 (16)°. The distances between the Fe(II) atom and the centroids of the two Cp rings are 1.639 (2) and 1.652 (2) Å. The conformation of the ferrocenyl moiety is slightly away from eclipsed. The dihedral angle between the coumarin ring system and the ferrocenyl ester moiety is 69.17 (19)°. π-π stacking inter-actions involving the benzene rings of neighbouring coumarin moieties, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.739 (2) Å, consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C11H6Br2O4, is a new coumarin derivative obtained from the reaction of 3-acetyl-4-hy-droxy-2H-chromen-2-one with bromine in acetic acid. The hy-droxyl group in involved in an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, π-π inter-actions between the rings of the bicycle [inter-centroid distances = 3.498 (2) and 3.539 (2) Å] pack mol-ecules into stacks along the b axis, and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further link these stacks into layers parallel to the ab plane.

The dihedral angle between the pyrazole and phenyl rings is 56.60 (9)°. The pyrazole ring adopts a twisted comformation. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by intra-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, both of which form S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, each water mol-ecule is linked to its adjacent organic mol-ecule via pairs of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The packing is further consolidated by pairs of inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into dimers; the dimers are stacked along the b axis.
