Background and Aim: MDM4, a negative regulator of the p53 tumor suppression pathway, has been demonstrated to be overexpressed in a variety of human cancers. Research has revealed that the rs4245739 A>C polymorphism of MDM4 in the 3′-untranslated region makes it a miR-191 target site, leading to lower MDM4 expression.
