The rapid auxin-triggered growth of the <i>Arabidopsis</i> hypocotyls involves the nuclear TIR1/AFB-Aux/IAA signaling and is accompanied by acidification of the apoplast and cell walls (Fendrych <i>et al</i>., 2016).
