<h4>Background</h4>Long-term survival of lung transplant recipients (LTRs) is limited by the occurrence of bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS). Recent evidence suggests a role for microbiome alterations in the occurrence of BOS, although the precise mechanisms are unclear.
