Single domain antibodies have emerged as a new class of therapeutic molecules in antibody engineering. A single domain antibody (shark V<sub>NAR</sub>), in contrast to a conventional antibody (Fv), is capable of binding a buried functional site consisting of the enzyme's substrate binding pocket.
