Fibrosis, resulted from the imbalance of fibrogenesis and fibrolysis, is a key readout of disease progression in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and reflects mortality risk. Non-invasive biomarkers capable of diagnosing fibrosis stages and monitoring fibrosis changes in NASH patients are urgently needed.
