Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced apoptosis is a promising treatment strategy for malignant neoplasms. However, current systems are highly dependent on oxygen status and/or external stimuli to generate ROS, which greatly limit their therapeutic efficacy particularly in hypoxic tumors.
