Pirfenidone (PFD) is an anti-fibrotic drug used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis by inducing G₁ cell cycle arrest in fibroblasts. We hypothesize that PFD can induce G₁ cell cycle arrest in different types of cells, including cancer cells.
