RORγt is well recognized as the lineage-defining transcription factor for T helper 17 (T<sub>H</sub>17) cell development. However, the cell-intrinsic mechanisms that negatively regulate T<sub>H</sub>17 cell development and autoimmunity remain poorly understood.
