Two new species of the ant genus Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae, Myrmicinae) from Thailand.

ABSTRACT: Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 is a small myrmicine genus of the tribe Crematogastrini. Seventeen species of the genus have been recorded from Southeast Asia. Herein, two new species from Thailand (Acanthomyrmexmalikuli sp. n. and Acanthomyrmexmizunoi sp. n.) are added to this genus. Both species belong to Acanthomyrmexluciolae species group. Acanthomyrmexmalikuli was collected from hard dead wood on forest floor, while A.mizunoi nested in soil.
